3 NOVEMBER 15, 2015 PASTORAL MESSAGE A PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DIED God of Consolation, We remember those who died. For those who passed away quietly, we ask for a joyful passage into your spacious heart. For those who suffered great pain, we ask for respite and the comfort of your compassionate embrace. For those who died too soon, in sudden and unexpected ways, we ask for peace and surrender into your loving care. Grant all of those who have died the grace of your eternal light and life. Amen A THOUGHT TO PONDER... DIOCESAN SCHOOL NEWS ST JOHN CATHOLIC SCHOOL Like us on Catholic-School/ Excitement was in the air as families and friends entered Sukee Arena in Winslow, to see the Boston Bruins Alumni play our local players. Ray Bourque and Rick Middleton were present which helped to add to the excitement. Fans couldn t wait to see them play. The game began with a group of St. John s children singing the National Anthem led by their music teacher Mrs. Day. The children did such an amazing job. Fr. Dan and I were chosen to drop the puck for the start of the game. This was a quite an honor for me. Those of us who attended the game felt the positive energy and excitement in the arena. Our school was truly blessed to be chosen this year, to be the recipient of their benefit game. The committee that worked together, to make this happen, are very generous people who care deeply for St. John s School. Many of them were alumni of the school and their children and now their grandchildren attend. The St. John School family wishes to thank everyone who helped in any way with the benefit and we want to thank the many people who attended the game and helped to make it a truly enjoyable night for everyone. We would like to acknowledge all of our students who did an amazing job selling tickets! Christmas Fair Update: We are now accepting donations for the white elephant. We would prefer that folks drop off items on one of the drop off days listed below, but if that is not convenient you can call the school and leave your name and number and we will call to set up a convenient time. 11/12 7:30-9:30am and 6:30-7:30pm 11/16 9:30-11:30am and 3:00-5:00pm 11/23 2:00-4:00pm 11/30 7:30-9:30am and 3:00-5:00pm We are still in need of auction items. If you have a business or know someone that does we would really appreciate you considering donating a gift certificate for the fair. There are still many opportunities for people to volunteer for the fair. We are always looking for helpers to coordinate and work and we always welcome those parishioners who enjoy cooking to think about donating sweet treats for this year s fair.
