Whole Community Faith Sharing Gospel Mark 14: 12-16, Reflection: Today s Gospel invites us to take a moment and remember the priceless gift we have in the Eucharist, which is the body and blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus is truly present to us in the elements of bread and wine. Each time we celebrate this sacrament we are nourished with his love. God gives himself completely in Holy Communion every day if we want, and all he asks is that we go and share that love in the same generous manner we receive it. Faith Response: Today I will take a moment to thank, love and honor God by going out and sharing that Eucharistic love, freely and generously. We seek a highly motivated individual with exceptional skills in organization, communication, database management, and light bookkeeping. The successful candidate, who will be the first contact in our Parish Office, needs to be an outgoing, personable individual with a willingness to assist parishioners and other guests of the Church. The job responsibilities include all aspects of the Parish Office, from scheduling Baptisms, Mass requests, recording Sacraments, maintaining the Parish registry to assisting with Church mailings. The Pope s Choir from Rome will perform during their muchanticipated U.S. National Tour at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on July 23rd. Serving as the Pope s personal choir, today, the 1500-year old Sistine Chapel Choir is the oldest and most respected active choir in the world today. Officially known as the Cappella Musicale Pontificia Sistina, part of the Choir s significance is due to its endurance through several centuries, including the Renaissance, which was a fundamental period for the Choir as it found its theatre in the Sistine Chapel. The choir is comprised of a highly accomplished group of 20 professional singers, chosen from all around the world. The treble section, known as the Pueri Cantores, is made up of 35 boys aged between 9 and 13, who are selected through rigorous auditions. They are known for playing an active part during papal celebrations in St Peter s Basilica and in the Sistine Chapel itself. El Camino Confirmation 2018/2019 For students entering the 9th grade and those continuing high school Confirmation sessions. Registration will start in August. Due to the unforeseen natural disasters of this last winter, we have need teens who cannot afford the total cost involved. We need sponsors to help. Keeping Children Safe During Summer Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is a Catholic day school associated with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and fully accredited by the National Catholic Education Association as well as the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is important to monitor for potential risks when a child enters a new environment. Ask to see the organizations written policies for the adults who will be supervising your child, check if there are procedures in place for emergencies and make sure there is a system for open communication between parents and organizers/leadership. Taking time to check these and other safeguards is key to building safe and nurturing experiences for children.
