Our Lady of Mount Carmel is proud to announce the recent response to our Increased Offertory Program. 144 Commitment Cards Received 29 Newly Registered Parishioners 9 Individuals Requesting Envelopes 11 Individuals Requesting Electronic Giving Information As you know, the program was put in place to help our church better meet its financial responsibilities. The response to our efforts has helped to increase our Saturday and Sunday collections. Many of you have received your Commitment packets in the mail, others have received them at your Ministry and/or Group meetings and many of you have filled out a card during Count Me In weekend. The initial results of the program are encouraging, since more parishioners are expected to return a Commitment Card over the next few weeks. Once all active contributors have returned a Commitment Card, it is anticipated we will be more successful in our attempts to improve our regular contributions. PLEASE PARTICIPATE! If you haven t already, please participate in this important program for Parish Name. All parishioners are asked to fill-out a Commitment Card and indicate your new weekly offertory contribution for the coming year. Once you have completed the Commitment Envelope, you can place it in the Offertory Collection Basket, mail it to the parish or personally deliver it to the Parish Office. THANK YOU! Over the centuries in Catholic tradition, the Church has lit candles in prayer as a visible reminder that Christ is our light. An original Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church artifact, this vintage candelabra has been beautifully restored and modernized. Over the years countless prayers have been said before this candelabra. Casting its glow in your home will be a beautiful reminder of the faith and hope the light provides.

The Clergy and Staff of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Page Two From the Principal's Desk As we celebrated All Saints Day this week, I was reminded of one of my favorite verses from scripture Matthew 19:14. When the disciples tried to keep the children away from Jesus, he said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Each year our fourth graders lead our All Saints Day school mass and many of them dress up as a saint they have researched. This is such an amazing counter to what our children often see in our culture. It is a blessing to be part of a Catholic school where the students can openly learn about and imitate the lives of the saints. I am grateful for the young saints we are forming at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. 6 Whole Community Faith Sharing Gospel: Mark 12:28-34 Reflection: Todays Gospel presents Jesus teachings on the two greatest commandments. Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And, love your neighbor as yourself. How do we show Jesus our love for Him? By our time spent with Him, especially in our prayer life. Since time is a gift from God, we show our love and gratitude for this gift by giving Him the best portion of our time. How do we show our love for our neighbor? By using the talents and treasures the Lord has given us for those around us, our neighbors. It is a way to love the Lord with all that I am and have since, He has told us that whatever we do for others we are also doing for Him. Faith Question: Why is love of neighbor as important as love of God? Faith Response: This week I will show that I love God and my neighbor with my whole heart. SAFEGUARD OUR CHILDREN Boundaries are really important Page Five Boundaries are critical, for you and for the children in your care. Establishing and maintaining boundaries helps teach children their importance, gives them the tools to establish their own, and to form appropriate and healthy relationships with other adults. You can avoid even a misconception of inappropriate behavior by upholding the boundaries you have established for yourself, allowing you more freedom to care for the children in your life.
