Archdiocese of Los Angeles Wildfire Fund The Archdiocese of LA has started a fund to help the victims of these fires. These funds will assist families within our parish communities in their recovery efforts. Earlier this year, a special fund was created to provide support during the Thomas Fire. This fund has now been expanded to include those affected by the recent fires in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles is providing support to the communities affected by the fires through Catholic Charities of Los Angeles and local parishes and schools. He is indeed King as well as humble servant. His mission is to testify to the truth. We all would do well to follow His truth and ignore what the world tells us is the "truth". Question: Today we celebrate Christ the King. How much do I let Jesus' truth rule my life? How difficult is it for me to follow Jesus? 7 Page Six Upcoming Events Giving Tree As you entered the Church today, you may have noticed the beautiful Christmas trees adorned with ornaments decorated by our children, parents, grandparents and parishioners. Each ornament has a tag of an economically challenged child in SB or Carpinteria. The tags have a set of directions, the child s name, age and desired gifts they need and requested. If you wish, you can take these ornaments home, buy up to two gifts for that child, wrap it and please bring them to the Rectory by THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6TH. Our Elves need time to assemble the gifts together for delivery. It is very important to attach the tag to the wrapped gifts so we will know to whom the gift belongs. On the tag, please circle which gift/s you ve purchased. The ornaments with a ribbon are families. If you have any questions, please contact Sr. Kathleen Patrice at Santa s Workshop Planning for our annual Santa s Workshop is well underway! On December 3 rd 6:00 8:00 pm and December 4 th 3:15 5:00pm, we invite children from grades 6 th 12 th to come decorate the parish hall so it will look like Santa s Workshop, help paint, repair, wrap, and tag toys. Christmas music and refreshments will add to our festivities. We are in need of gently used toys to be repaired or painted. Please check your closets once, twice for toys your children may have outgrown. The toys may be dropped off at the Convent Carport before Sunday, November 18th. These toys will be given to economically challenged children living in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. Christmas Potluck Join us for our parish potluck on Saturday, December 15 th at 6:00pm. Please bring your favorite food dish, enough to serve 8 people. Drinks will be provided.
