Your generosity is greatly appreciated Catholic Charities sends their sincere thanks to the parishioners for the funds collected during Lent. You helped raise $952, and this kind of generous support opens up new possibilities for decent housing, healthier living, and greater stability for people struggling with poverty. Beginning Thursday, August 9 at 1:00pm, we will be holding a weekly Bible Study Group in the Parish Center which will continue weekly through August 30. If you know of a parishioner who is homebound or in any of the senior living facilities call the parish office. We are committed to reaching out to all our parishioners. As you already know, our grant request for Mt. Olivet cemetery was approved and the contract signed, work will begin soon. The money will fund, taking down all the dead trees, restoring some graves/head stones, gate building and stream re-routing. Fr. Chumo became a US citizen on August 1, 2018.

This will be a dish to pass picnic lunch with the parish providing hot dogs and drinks, so mark your calendars for this social event. Sign-up sheets are at all Church Entrances. We will need volunteers to help plan and set up and clean up on the day of the picnic. Please contact Kathy Teeter at if you are interested in helping. Looking forward to seeing you all on August 12th! Sisters of Mercy Celebrating 175 years in the USA. To commemorate this event, each Sister of Mercy and Mercy Associate has been asked to find 175 ways to honor the occasion. The Mercy Associates at Immaculate have decided to collect 175 pairs of new socks for men, women and children. Bins will be available by the church entrances. PLEASE PRAY FOR... Bring a donation for the Food Pantry to your session and receive an additional $5 off your photography order. YOUTH CORNER Life can get difficult sometimes. When it does get tough, the question to ask yourself is am I a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean? You see when you place each in boiling water, they react differently. The carrot goes in hardened and tough, However after being boiled in water it gets weaker and soft. The egg goes into the water very fragile and its shell is actually protected from the liquid on the inside. But, when boiled the inside becomes hard and sometimes the shell actually cracks. The coffee bean is very different though. When it is boiled it actually changes the water. The hot water in each of these cases is the very thing which represents the pain in our lives. So, the question is are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean? When life gets difficult do you become weak and soft like the carrot? Does your outside shell look the same but on the inside you are hard hearted like the egg? Or, do you react like the coffee bean and actually work to change the water and circumstances around you? How do you handle the tough things life throws your way? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean? AROUND THE AREA French Boys Choir Les Moineaux will be on tour in the East and South of the United States this summer. Their concerts will include music of the sixteenth century and the well known Hallelujah from Handel, Ave Maria from Gounod, as well as music pieces of the French folklores. They will be performing at Immaculate Conception Church on Monday, August 20th, at 2:00pm. There is no charge, but they will accept a free will offering. This choir has been singing and travelling all over the world for 65 years. The 2018 Notre Dame Retreat House Golf Tournament is at Midvale Country Club, Penfield, NY. on September 24, Gather a foursome or golf as an individual. If not a golfer, sign up for dinner!
