2 Dear faithful & friends of the Institute, LETTER FROM THE VICAR GENERAL With sincere gratitude I thank you wholeheartedly for the many charitable donations received in the Good Shepherd Sunday collection on May 4 for the seminarians in formation at St. Philip Neri International Seminary in Gricigliano, Italy. The total contributions from our apostolates nationwide amounted to over $51,800. These funds are very helpful for the upkeep and restoration of the seminary buildings and facilities which are used to house and to educate your future priests. May God reward you abundantly for your continual prayers and generous support which makes possible the quality formation of these vocations to the holy priesthood of Christ our King. Please know that over 80 seminarians are praying daily for you and your intentions. Holy Mass is frequently offered in our seminary chapel for our benefactors both living and deceased. To enroll your father in the Triduum, fill out his name (please indicate whether he is living or deceased) on the Father's Day envelopes and include an offering. ICRSS ORDINATIONS IN SAINT LOUIS With heartfelt gratitude to Divine Providence, it is our joy to announce the upcoming priestly ordinations which will take place this summer in the United States. With the gracious permission of His Grace, the Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis, several American deacons will be ordained to the holy priesthood at St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, Feast of Our Lady of the Snows. The Sacrament of Holy Orders will be conferred by His Eminence, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, during the Pontifical Mass which will be offered on this feast in honor of Mary Immaculate, principal patroness of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. The Institute welcomes all friends and faithful who would like to attend this Ordination ceremony. Details will be made available in the coming months. Everyone is likewise invited to pray for these several deacons as they prepare to become ordained sons of Christ the King Sovereign Priest at the service of Holy Mother Church and for the good of souls. 2

5 BUILDING FUND: Update With much gratitude, I would like to thank all of those who have contributed so generously to our 2014 Building Fund Campaign. Since having launched the campaign in March we have received close to $80,000 in pledges and gifts. We have almost reached our goal of raising $90,000 and want to make a final push to raise the remaining $12,000 within the next few weeks. I would like to encourage all those who have not yet signed a pledge to prayerfully consider participating in this year s campaign. Everyone s participation in this campaign is important so that we are able to lower the Diocesan loan under the amount of $700,000 by the end of this year. Pledge Cards and Building Fund Envelopes are available in the back of the church. Again I wholeheartedly thank you for your great generosity. We are currently looking at proposals for much needed tuck-pointing, stone preservation work especially on the west side of the church and the repair of the downspouts and the gutter system. This maintenance work is expected to take place in the summer of this year and I will publish more detailed information as soon as I know. The remaining debt for the restoration of Old St. Patrick Oratory is currently $745,341. At this moment we are making combined principle/interest payments of around $7,500 each month. With your help, we would like to increase the monthly payment to $9,500. This will allow us to pay back the Diocesan loan more quickly. 6 THE ATHANASIAN CREED Whosoever willeth to be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic faith. Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish eternally. Now the Catholic faith is this, that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity. Neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the substance. For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is one, the Glory Equal, the Majesty Co-Eternal. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father Uncreated, the Son Uncreated, and the Holy Ghost Uncreated. The Father Infinite, the Son Infinite, and the Holy Ghost Infinite. The Father Eternal, the Son Eternal, and the Holy Ghost Eternal. And yet they are not three Eternals, but one Eternal. As also they are not three Uncreated, nor three Infinites, but One Uncreated, and One Infinite. So likewise the Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not three Almighties, but One Almighty. So the Father is God, the Son God, and the Holy Ghost God. And yet they are not three Gods, but One God. So the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Ghost Lord. And yet they are not three Lords, but One Lord. For, like as we are compelled by Christian truth to acknowledge every Person by Himself to be God and Lord, so are we forbidden by the Catholic Religion to say, there be three Gods or three Lords. The Father is made of none, neither created, nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone: not made, nor created, but begotten. The Holy Ghost is of the Father, and the Son: not made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding. So there is One Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts. 4 And in this Trinity is nothing afore or after, nothing is greater or less; but the whole three Persons are Co- Eternal together, and Co-Equal. So that in all things, as is aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped. He therefore that willeth to be safe, let him thus think of the Trinity. But it is necessary to eternal salvation, that he also believe faithfully the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. The right Faith therefore is, that we believe and confess, that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and man. God, of the Substance of the Father, Begotten before the worlds: and Man, of the substance of His mother, born in the world. Perfect God, Perfect Man, of a reasoning soul and human flesh subsisting. Equal to the Father as touching His Godhead, inferior to the Father as touching His Manhood. Who, although He be God and Man, yet He is not two, but One Christ. One, however, not by conversion of the Godhead into Flesh, but by taking of the Manhood into God. One altogether, not by confusion of Substance, but by Unity of Person. For as the reasoning soul and flesh is one man, so God and man is One Christ. Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, rose again the third day from the dead. He ascended into heaven, He sitteth on the right hand of the Father, God Almighty, from whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies, and shall give account for their own works. And they that have done good shall go into life eternal, but they that have done evil into eternal fire. This is the Catholic Faith, which except a man believe faithfully and firmly, he cannot be safe.

7 CHOIR CAMP 2014 AUGUST 18-23, 2014 The Institute s Choir Camp 2014 will take place during the third week of August and will be held again in Kentucky at Mount Saint Joseph, the Motherhouse of the Ursuline Order. As in previous years, the campers will be immersed in an authentically Catholic setting of study, prayer, and play, under the guidance of faculty members led by Mr. Botkins, Abbé Alex and other adult counselors. The campers daily routine will include studying vocal technique, Gregorian chant, Latin and composition; assisting at daily Mass in the Extraordinary Form; Rosary walks; chanting the Litany of the Sacred Heart, and many opportunities to work together, play together, and perform. A priest of the Institute will be present for daily Mass and confessions. The intensive training from previous camps has already borne rich fruits. As do many eager campers, we look forward to a fruitful Choir Camp 2014! SURSUM CORDA WEEKEND FOR YOUNG ADULTS JULY 25-28, 2014 Sursum Corda is a nationwide initiative to foster the spiritual lives of the young adults in the apostolates of the Institute of Christ the King. For the fourth year in a row, Sursum Corda is offering a social and spiritual weekend for young people ages 18 and up, July 25-28, The event will be held on the beautiful grounds of Mundelein Seminary just north of Chicago, Illinois. Canon Aaron Huberfeld, Rector of St. Mary's Oratory in Wausau, will be the chaplain for the camp, and several other canons are sure to be there as well. The program includes daily Mass, prayer in common and opportunity for confession, faith formation classes and discussions, and other social activities for young men and women. The weekend begins with check-in at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 25 at Mundelein and will end on Monday, July 28 at 12:00 PM.
