4 Knights of Columbus St. Mark Council No Grand Knight - Victor Coppola Meetings Every First Thursday of the Month at 7:00PM in the St. Francis Center July 2nd Meeting will be moved to July 9th The St. Mark Council of Catholic Women meets the second Saturday of each month from September to May. Meetings are held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in the cafeteria. The next meeting will be held on September 12. Membership is open to all women of the parish, and new members are always welcome. For more information, call Maureen Fulop at or Marge LaViola at The Legion of Mary meets on Wednesday mornings after the 8:00AM Mass in the Chapel where we recite the Rosary and have a short meeting. The Legion offers an opportunity for both spiritual and active enrichment. We invite our auxiliary members to join us and always welcome new members. Knights of Columbus St. Mark Council No has joined with Trinity Council No to serve St. Thomas More, St. Mark Church and the Diocese of Palm Beach. We are looking for members to join the Knights of Columbus Council. During the past years our parishioners completed their study of the Book of Acts, and the Book of Ecclesiastes. We were honored to have several sessions on special topics conducted by our Friars and a Messianic Jewish Pastor. Participants learned about the Bible and deepened their understanding of the history of the traditions, customs and symbols of our Catholic and other faiths. We are taking the summer off and will commence our study in October Please look for future announcements. Have a restful and safe summer! 4 Youth Ministry & Faith Formation We are currently taking registration for Faith Formation and Youth Ministry for the School Year! Please come in to the Parish Office at this time to register. Forms are also available on our website! Classes will begin in Mid-September and are for students Kindergarten - 9th grade. Our Youth Ministry is open to youth 7th 12th grade.

5 THE LORD OF LIFE At this bountiful time of year, our Sunday readings teem with life and abundance. Both the first reading, from the book of Wisdom, and the Gospel passage from Mark assure us that God did not make death or even will us to be ill. Illness and death entered the world through the presence of evil, the Wisdom author tells us. Mark s stories of Jesus healing a hemorrhaging woman and resuscitating a dead little girl make it clear that Jesus is from God. As the Son of God he does not will that anyone suffer illness or death. In the face of such power, the second reading, from Paul s Second Letter to the Corinthians, provides a stark contrast. Jesus could raise the dead to new life. Though he was rich, for your sake he became poor (2 Corinthians 8:9). Our gift of new life from Christ demands our response in charity. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co. The first few weeks of this process will give participants the opportunity to inquire into the Catholic faith and help them discern their readiness to enter the Catholic Church and receive the greatest gifts the Catholic faith has to offer, union with Jesus Christ through the Sacraments of Initiation.
