MARRIAGE According to Diocesan regulations, arrangements must be made at least six months in advance in the rectory. 4 NOVEMBER 22, From the Pastor s Desk. The Feast of Christ the King This weekend we are celebrating the Feast of Christ the King and we come to the end of our liturgical year. Today, the whole world stands still and bows to Christ, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, and the beginning and the end. Today, both the first and second reading bear testimonies of the kingship of Christ. Daniel prophesied about the eternal kingdom of peace of Jesus Christ, while John called Him: the first born of all creation the Alpha and the Omega. Both readings also remind us that His kingdom is of justice, love, truth, and peace. In the Gospel today, Jesus says, My kingdom does not belong to this world. The priorities and values of his kingdom are different than that of the world. We must allow Jesus to reign in our lives. If we let Christ reign in every hearts, there is no doubt that our world will be a better place. Using God s name to justify violence is 'blasphemy,' Pope Francis Pope Francis condemned the Paris terror attacks in France and said, Such barbarity leaves us shocked and makes us wonder how the human heart can conceive and carry out such horrible events, which have shaken not only France but the entire world. Holy Father also said, to use the name of God to justify this path is blasphemy. We expressed our deep sorrow for Friday s terror attacks in Paris which killed over 129 innocent people. We pray for the repose of all who lost their lives in these attacks and for their loved ones that Almighty God may comfort them at that time of testing and pain. Great News- Annual Catholic Appeal: Thanks to the generosity of 329 families in our parish, we are now over the assigned goal of 75, This means that once payment are finished on the goal, the parish receives ALL of the money over the goal. We are grateful to you. Again if you wishes to make a pledge or make a donation, please use the envelope in the Church. The more people give now the more our parish will receive. Happy Thanksgiving! This week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. It is a time of year when we give than to God for all our blessings. Our thanks to God should always precede our requests. St Paul reminds us In all circumstances give thanks to God (I Thessalonians 5:18). May we count our blessing at every opportunity and be generous to share with others. Happy Thanksgiving! Fr. Thank you for your generosity! THANKSGIVING DAY There will be only one Mass on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at 9:30 am for Thanksgiving Day. Please be advised that the Rectory will be closed this Thursday and Friday (11/26-27/15). On this day we will give personal and family thanks for God s care and blessings in our lives. We invite everyone to celebrate and give thanks together at this Eucharist. We invite each family to bring a food or beverage item which they will serve or bring to a home they visit that day.
