2 Page 2 PARISH NEWS GO MAKE DISCIPLES DIOCESAN SERVICES FUND 2017 CORPUS CHRISTI GOAL $75,000 DSF participation enables us to impact the lives of thousands and thousands of our archdiocesan brothers and sisters through the evangelizing, healing, nurturing,and pastoral ministries of the Church. By supporting the ministries of the Church we nurture and enrich our archdiocese, and we carry out the design of God; indeed, by being a good steward to the community, we strengthen the generous heart of the Church. 3 Page 3 PARISH NEWS (continued) ADULT FAITH FORMATION Education Council is Looking for a Few Good Members! Catholic Education Councils are advisory bodies which consult with the Pastor and administrators in developing policies and addressing the educational mission of the parish. This includes the Parish school, religious education for youth and adults, and sacramental preparation. Education Councils assist the Pastor and administrators in identifying and articulating the educational needs and aspirations of the parish, and engage in long-range strategic planning. These goals become the basis for program objectives, policies, and action plans for the educational programs. Serving on a Catholic Education Council is a ministry. Members commit to a three-year term meeting 10 months out of the year. If you'd like to be considered for membership, please contact Education Council President, Mrs. Jennifer Bauman at buje@swbell.net. FORMED.ORG An online platform of Catholic content for adults, children and families Corpus Christi subscribes to the website Formed.org and its contents are available to everyone in the parish. Formed includes Bible and faith study programs, movies, e-books, and talks. Our parish login code is 2TMRW6. To prepare for Lent, try listening to "My Beloved Son: Meditations for Lent" on Formed. This is a set of 4 homilies from Bishop Robert Barron covering most of our upcoming Lenten readings. Bishop Barron discusses the Temptation of Christ, the Prodigal Son, the Transfiguration. and Jeremiah 31:31. He really breaks open the scriptures and gives us ways to apply Jesus' teachings to our everyday lives. Bishop Barron, a scholar and teacher, references great church writers and thinkers like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas. You will feel inspired to deepen your prayer life and grow closer to God this Lent! ARCHDIOCESAN VOCATION EVENTS: Women Seeking the Road Less Traveled - Mar. 9, Apr. 6, May 11; 6:30 9:00 p.m. - A monthly discernment gathering for women ages 18 and older who are discerning a vocation to religious life. The gathering meets in different convents around the Archdiocese. Program includes supper, a brief presentation and time for sharing, followed by prayer. Sisters from several religious orders who live and minister in the Archdiocese will be present.
