BLESSED SACRAMENT CONGREGATION CHAPTER This week, October 21 26, the Blessed Sacrament Congregation of priests, deacons, brothers and associates hold chapter meetings in Florida. This time is dedicated to reviewing the mission and vision of the congregation, planning for their future. During the weekend, we welcome, Fr. Cyrus Gallagher, a Capuchin priest, with the Unbound Preacher ministry, for our weekend Masses. Welcome, Fr. Cyrus! Throughout the week of October 21-26, we hope to have a visiting priest to celebrate Mass, or when necessary, there will be Morning Prayer, followed by a Communion Service. Please keep in your daily prayers the healing of victims of abuse and all who suffer in any way. TRAININGS FOR NEW LITURGICAL MINISTERS (English) The following are training dates for those who may be interested in serving at Corpus Christi Church as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, or Altar Servers: Thursday, October 25th, 4:00pm in Church - New Altar Servers (limit 4) Thursday, October 25th, 7:00pm - New Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion In order to attend one of these trainings you must register ahead of time. We also remember our beloved dead on All Souls Day. We recall the names and lives of those who died in the past year our family, our friends, our parishioners. You are invited to participate in these sacred celebrations in the following ways. Bring a small photo of your loved one to place on the Memorial display in the vestibule. Please bring your photo by this Sunday, October 28 and place it on the display shelves. Be sure to put your name on the back. You may retrieve your photo on Sunday, November 11. If you had a loved one die this past year (November 1, 2017 October 30, 2018), please submit their name and date of death using the Memorial Mass form in the vestibule or at the parish office. They will be remembered at the Masses on All Souls Day, 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. The 7:00 pm Mass will include a recitation of the names, followed by a reception in Prefontaine Hall. 5 PARISH NEWS SAFETY ALERT PLEASE TAKE PRECAUTIONS This message was distributed this past week to the Corpus Christi School parents by Principal, Dr. Mazie McCoy. It is a message important to all of our church and school families Dear Parents, We'd like to remind everyone of the importance of taking precautions for theft prevention. There was an incident on campus last Friday (October 12) in which a laptop was stolen from a vehicle during an evening volleyball game. Our security cameras recorded a woman who parked in the middle school parking lot, walked to multiple cars and pulled on the door handles. She was able to enter this particular vehicle and exit with a laptop. She then left the premises, returned a few minutes later and was able to enter a second vehicle, but appeared to exit empty handed. This video footage is being released to the Houston Police Department. Area police departments remind us that day cares, schools and shopping malls are high target areas for vehicle thefts. Some theft prevention tips are: Hide or remove valuables, including phones, charging cables, backpacks and packages. Women are reminded to carry their purses with them when leaving their vehicles. Never leave your car running. Lock your car and take your keys. Let's continue to work together to keep our community safe. 6 PARISH NEWS LEGION DE MARIA HONRANDO A MARIA, NUESTRA MADRE La Legión de María (Español) nos invita a reunirnos con ellos a rezar el Rosario este Viernes 26 de Octubre a las 7:00 pm en la Iglesia. El Rosario será rezado en español e inglés. La Iglesia Católica dedica el mes de Octubre a María, nuestra Madre, la Madre de Jesús, y nos anima a que recemos el rosario diariamente. CCE clases de 5:00 6:30 pm, Salones de secundaria ALERTA DE SEGURIDAD POR FAVOR TOME PRECAUCIONES Este mensaje fue distribuido la semana pasada a los Padres de familia de la escuela Corpus Christi por la Directora Dr. Mazie McCoy. Es un mensaje importante para todas las familias de la Parroquia. Queridos Padres, Queremos recordarles la importancia de tomar precaución para la prevención de robos. El pasado viernes (12 de octubre) tuvimos un incidente, en el que fue robada una computadora personal, laptop, durante un juego de voleibol por la tarde. Nuestras cámaras de seguridad grabaron a una mujer que se estaciono en medio del estacionamiento de la escuela y camino entre los coches estacionados tratando de ver que puertas estaban abiertas. Ella pudo abrir una de las puertas y tomo la computadora personal. Después se retiró del estacionamiento y regreso minutos más tarde y pudo abrir otro de los coches y aparentemente no pudo obtener nada. Este video ha sido enviado al Departamento de Policía de Houston. El departamento de policía del área, nos recuerda que las guarderías, escuelas y centros comerciales son blanco para los robos de vehículos. Algunas recomendaciones para prevenir estos robos son: Esconder y remover artículos valiosos, incluyendo teléfonos, cargadores, mochilas y paquetes. Las mujeres deben recordar llevar sus bolsas al bajar del vehículo. Nunca dejar su vehículo en marcha. Siempre cerrar las puertas con llave y llevar las llaves consigo.
