2 CORPUS CHRISTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, HOUSTON, TEXAS MAY 23, 2010 DIOCESAN SERVICES FUND UPDATE Corpus Christi Feast Day Sunday, June 6, 12:30 pm All are invited to participate in a solemn procession honoring the feast of the Body & Blood of Christ. The procession will begin at 12:30 pm near the church on Sunday, June 6. Please join us in this special celebration. Children who have made their First Communion recently are especially invited to wear their First Communion attire and help lead the procession. Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament Would you like to participate in this special ministry of prayer? We have several additional time slots available if you would like to participate. Dates available include Mondays from 10:00 11:00 am, Wednesdays from 12:00 1:00 pm and Fridays from 2:00 3:00 pm. But the truth is that today s scene is but one moment from the Spirit s long presence in salvation. The spirit of God (ruach) is present at the dawn of creation, blowing over the chaotic waters as God commands light to be. That same spirit of God filled the prophets of Israel. The spirit of the Lord came upon me fills their witness, as they guided Israel in their quest to be faithful to the loving, merciful God of their covenant. We hear that the Spirit overshadowed Mary s womb so that the very Word of God would take on our human flesh. And Jesus begins his ministry in Luke s Gospel by saying the Spirit is upon him. On the cross, according to John, he gives up his spirit. Today Paul tells us that this Holy Spirit is from God, who raised Christ from the dead. We also hear John s account of the Spirit as the very breath of the risen Christ on his disciples. That same Spirit of all these biblical accounts was there at our baptism and continues to live in us. We are temples of that Spirit, witnesses to the Spirit s grace. And it is in the Holy Spirit that we will continue to live in the gospel s light, and to pursue our life of eternal glory in Christ. Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co.

CATECISMO Catecismo Recordamos que es necesario hacer una cita para la entrevista de sus hijos, que terminaron su primer año de formación cristiana y que ya están listos con sus oraciones para que puedan continuar el próximo con la preparación para la Primera Comunión. Estos niños deben de realizar su entrevista y anotarse para el Catecismo desde ahora. Favor de llamar a la oficina si tienen preguntas, ALREDEDOR DE LA ARQUIDIOCESIS Tercer Retiro Anual Multicultural de Matrimonios el Viernes 25 y Sábado 26 de Junio del Damos la bienvenida a parejas que hablen Español, Inglés, Chino. Durante este evento de 2 días, las parejas van a tener la oportunidad de retirarse, enfocando en su relación y aprendiendo cómo mejorar su matrimonio. Este evento especial incluye: 3 sesiones de enriquecimiento matrimonial, cena del viernes, estancia de una noche en el hotel, desayuno y almuerzo del sábado. Renovación se sus votos de matrimonio. El espacio es limitado a 30 parejas de cada grupo, que se registren con anticipación. Este evento es exclusivamente para parejas casadas.
