2 Page Two PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! CHRIST IS RISEN! Today we rejoice in the new creation brought about by God through the Resurrection of Christ. Our joy at Christ s resurrection and the promise of new life is proclaimed in symbol, word and song. May we each cherish and welcome the men, women and children who were received into the church at the Easter Vigil. Together, we share in their joy as members of our faith community. In the fullness of Easter joy, we pray for each other. Happy Easter! ADORATION DURING EASTER WEEK Please note that Adoration will not be held on Easter Monday. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will resume on Wednesday, April 27. ADORATION MINISTRY We are in need of more volunteers on Friday afternoons from 2:00 3:00 pm to pray before the Blessed Sacrament. Please call the parish office, , to offer your time. What a beautiful way to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord! OPERATION RICE BOWL Have you turned in your rice bowl? If not, please do so right away by bringing it to the parish office or giving it to one of the ushers. All rice bowl contributions support the work of Catholic Relief Services. Thank you to those who have already turned in their rice bowl. The prayers and support of our community remind us of our brothers and sisters whose struggles are eased by our thoughtful generosity. Another group of 4 parishioners attended a listening session at St. Cyril Church. Along with Fr. Dana and members of the Pastoral Staff, we had the opportunity to express our thoughts and ideas about the future of our Archdiocese. Below is a prayer that was used at the pastoral planning session. We are asked to say this prayer throughout the year as the work to outline the future needs of the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston continues. Perhaps you might like to clip this prayer and say it on a daily basis. A Prayer for our Archdiocese Father, we thank you for your constant and loving presence in our lives. As we embark on this planning process for our Archdiocese, we humbly ask you to bless this mission. Be the moving force in all we do. Jesus, our Redeemer, enlighten us to embrace all of our sisters and brothers. Loving Spirit, fill us with your gifts and inspiration. May the fruits of our pastoral listening sustain the poor, give hope to the sick, comfort those who suffer, call the complacent to love, welcome home our distant sisters and brothers, and bring greater glory to your Son. Mary, our Mother, intercede for us that we may follow God s Holy Will. May all who are touched by these efforts find their hopes and aspirations fulfilled so that we are truly transformed into the one Body of Christ. In Jesus name, we pray. View a short video together about Mary and the Rosary, designed to appeal to elementary school children, but delightful for all ages. Everyone will then make their own rosary as you follow the easy demonstration given by Laura Edstrom of our Adult Faith Formation Committee. Materials provided! Little Rock Scripture Series: The Book of Isaiah "Isaiah's words to Israel emphasize God's holiness and care for those oppressed in society. Allow Israel's prophets to challenge you to greater holiness and compassion." This 13 week session is held at 7:30 pm in the Jones Room through June 27. CCE Holidays : There are no CCE Classes during Easter, April 24 or Spring Fling, May 1. The final class of the year is Sunday, May 8. Grade 2 CCE students will be serving in various ministries at the 8:30 a.m. Mass on May 8. ADULT FAITH FORMATION: Please see the flyer at the church entrance listing our Spring AFF offerings. In addition to regular weekly meetings this semester, we have once-a-month special sessions prepared for your spiritual enrichment. Nuestro gozo en la resurrección de Cristo y la promesa de una nueva vida es proclamada en los símbolos, palabras y cantos. Que cada uno de nosotros apreciemos y acojamos a los hombres, mujeres y niños quienes fueron recibidos en el seno de la Iglesia en al Vigilia Pascual.
