1 St Dyfrig s & All Hallows Catholic Churches pontypriddrcdeanery.org.uk Parishes of the Archdiocese of Cardiff Registered Charity no Father Allan Davies-Hale st.dyfrigtreforest@rcadc.org St Dyfrig s Presbytery, Broadway, Treforest, Pontypridd, CF37 1DB Telephone: Mobile: Sunday 4 th st Sunday in Ordinary Time Cycle B Psalter Week 3 NEWS FOR ALL Please pray for Frances Mary Board and Tony Warburton who died recently. The Funeral Service for Frances Board will take place on Monday 5 th at 1.45 pm in All Hallows. Tony Warburton was a well-known committed parishioner of All Hallows. He was a regular at 9.15 am Mass. He was one of the collectors at Mass. He was also a District President of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. Please pray for him, his wife Susan, his daughters and all his family. His Requiem Mass will take place on Friday 16 th at 9.45 am, followed by internment at Llanharry Cemetery. is traditionally a month of special prayer for those who have died. There will be a Mass of Memories in All Hallows on Saturday 10 th at am and in St. Dyfrig s on Saturday 24 th at am. We will pray and remember especially those who have died during this past year. The Books of Remembrance will be displayed in both Churches. If anyone would like names included in the books, please leave in an envelope and place in the basket, which will be placed nearby. The Mass for deceased clergy will take place on Tuesday 20 th at St. David s Cathedral Cardiff at pm. Rhonnda Cynon Taf Council are proposing to close Cardinal Newman Sixth Form as part of a wider reorganisation of schools in the area. It is proposed that the pupils from Cardinal Newman will have a choice between St. David s Sixth Form College, Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School or Coleg y Cymoedd at Sixth Form. Hawthorn and Pontypridd will also lose their Sixth Forms, but will receive substantial investment. Governors raised a number of issues with the local authority and want four main questions answered: Why is no additional investment being planned for the school in line with the other others in the area? How would transport to St. David s College be organised if the Sixth Form was closed? How were the so called Sixth Form Centres of excellence identified? Why is the top performing school in the area, Cardinal Newman, being excluded from the plans for the area? Governors have asked that people consider raising these points in their own response to this consultation in addition to any other points that they may have. Governors would encourage all those in our parishes to send a response to this consultation. Governors have written an official response that is available on the school website. People are welcome to amend or adapt this letter if they are in agreement with the sentiments expressed. Responses should be addressed to c/o: The Director of Education and Inclusion Services First Reading: Deuteronomy 6:2-6; Second Reading: Hebrews 7:23-28 Gospel: Mark 12:28-34 Psalm: I love you Lord, my strength Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia, alleluia! Your words are spirit, Lord, and they are life: you have the message of eternal life. Alleluia!

CHURCH CAR PARK As a parish we have dealt with many issues relating to inappropriate use of our car park in As a result it has been decided that the Car Park will be locked at 6.00pm each evening and re-opened at 8.30 am each morning. Users of the parish hall outside of these hours will be asked to open and re-lock the car park at the end of the evening. If you are able to help with the locking and unlocking of the car park, please let Seamus Harding or Neil Spiller know and you can join the rota for this. HEALTH AND SAFETY ACCIDENT REPORTING- There are new procedures for reporting any accidents on our church premises. Any accident should be recorded, in the first instance, on the new form which is available on the notice board in the Church Hall and in the sacristy. The details of the accident will also be recorded in the accident book, held in the Church Office. Completed forms and the accident book will then be made available for inspection by the Diocese in any audit.
