Prayer Meeting In Fr Ciarán s office at the Parish Centre every Wednesday at 6.30pm. The Pope s July Intentions Universal Priests and their Pastoral Ministry. That priests, who experience fatigue and loneliness in their pastoral work, may find help and comfort in their intimacy with the Lord and their friendship with their brother priests. Fr Ciarán is away this week for his annual Retreat please keep him in your prayers. He will be back in the Parish on the 18 th July. Please contact Fr Robbie, , if you are in need of a priest or the Parish Office to leave a message. Solemn Benediction, Litany & Rosary This coming Thursday 19 th July at 6.30pm. Music will be by the Cornish Catholic Choir. This is a wonderful opportunity for devotion, praise, silence, reflection and adoration with beautiful music in a traditional setting. Mass is at in the morning and will be attended by Yr6 leavers and the whole school. Retreats - Plymouth Diocese 2018 July 8 th 13 th (Sun-Fri) 5 day retreat at Sclerder, Looe, Cornwall 350. October 12 th -14 th (Fri-Sun) Weekend Retreat at Southgate Buckfast. Booking form available in the office. Padstow There will be no tea and coffee after mass on Saturday 21 st July because of a function in the Church Rooms.

3 Adoremus Invitation Our Parish has 3 tickets left that have been allocated for the National Eucharistic Congress (Adoremus) in Liverpool 7 th -9 th September This Eucharistic Congress is for all parishes in England & Wales. There will be many speakers and much adoration. Main speaker is Bishop Robert Barron, who you may remember from our Word on Fire course a couple of years ago. All our Bishops will attend. If you are would like to attend please contact Fr Ciaran soonest Adoremus Eucharistic Congress preparation day An afternoon for all candidates from across the diocese. Resources for Catechists with Bishop Mark O Toole An afternoon for catechists and for anyone interested in passing on the faith, especially those involved in sacramental preparation for reconciliation, eucharist for children and parents, RCIA and children s liturgy. Tuesday 17 th Yr2 are off to Falmouth to visit the Maritime Museum. On the 17 th at 2pm Yr6 will have their Graduation and at 5pm their Mexican Fiesta Meal with staff and parents. Thursday 19 th School Leavers Mass in the church at the whole school will attend. Friday 20 th school breaks up for Summer holidays at 2pm. We hope the staff and pupils have a well learned rest and come back refreshed in September. To Make you Smile Six-year-old Angie and her four-yearold brother Joel were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang, and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had enough. "You're not supposed to talk out loud in church." "Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked. Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, "See those two men standing by the door? They're hushers." Next Sunday s readings: 16 th Week in Ordinary Time Jeremiah 23:1-6; PS 22; Ephesians 2:13-18; Mark 6:30-34; Saint Kateri Tekakwitha - July 14 Known as the Lily of the Mohawks, Saint Kateri Tekakwitha s story is one of courage and humility. Courageously facing her uncle s dislike for anything Christian, she converted to Catholicism at age 19. This led to a life of extreme penance and austerity for the young woman. Escaping to Montreal, Kateri continued to live a life of prayer and penance.

5 On Monday 16th Year 3 are visiting The Tate Gallery in St Ives. Year 2 are going to the Falmouth Maritime Museum on Tuesday 17th Year 6 are having their Graduation Ceremony at 2pm on Tuesday followed by their Mexican Fiesta at 5pm. On Thursday 19th the whole school will be attending Mass in Church at School ends for the summer holidays at 2pm on Friday 20th.
