3 Holy Week Sacred Triduum Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord s Supper 7.30pm Good Friday Solemn Liturgy 3pm Holy Saturday - Easter Vigil 8pm EASTER DAY EVENING MASS in the Cathedral at 6.00pm and not at St Marks ~ Collections during Holy Week Holy Thursday SVP Good Friday Holy Land Shrines Easter Offering for the parish priests There will be no 10am Mass on Maundy Thursday There will be no 6pm Mass on Holy Saturday Fr Laurie Locke is convalescing and so the Cathedral clergy will be celebrating the Holy Week liturgies at Holy Apostles. Alive in Faith If you have a yellow pledge form could you kindly complete it and send it to Poringland or to the Cathedral Cathedral Bells through a generous gift from a Friend of the Cathedral we have been able to install an electronic carillon of bells. These will mark the day with the Angelus and the call to Mass. This is a beautiful addition to the dignity of our cathedral worship. If you are away over the Easter period the parish clergy wish you a very blessed time and safe journeys. Parish Pilgrimage to Assisi led by Fr David Paul from 3 rd Oct 6 th Oct Price of pilgrimage will be 450 which includes scheduled flight from Stanstead to Perugia, 3 nights accommodation, breakfast and dinner for 3 days. Last Chance please book your places. Walk and Pray in support of Refugees: on the day that Jesus was welcomed into Jerusalem, let us open our hearts and the doors of the City of Norwich to the Syrian refugees. Gather at the main door to St. John the Baptist at 1.30pm on Palm Sunday, 20 th March, and walk together to St. Peter Mancroft, to join with members of other faith communities and of Sanctuary Norfolk. Here are some family-oriented events planned for Good Friday 25 th March 2016: Children s Stations of the Cross 11.00am. Easter Art Competition and other Easter related arts and crafts 12.00pm onwards in the hall. Please bring a packed lunch. For details please refer to the posters. An Easter Carol Veggie Tales movie pm. The Easter Triduum rotas for Readers, Eucharistic Ministers and Maundy Thursday washing of feet (which is open to everyone) are at the back of the Cathedral. Please do volunteer for these most important liturgical events. The new Readers rota is available from the sacristy. ~ Sunday Lunch in the Narthex on the last Sunday of the Month ring Jess in the office to book admin@sjbcathedral.org.uk The next Baptism Preparation Class at 4pm on Saturday 16 th April in the Cathedral Choir Sacristy. The Flower Group will hold its annual Easter Flower Collection after Masses on Palm Sunday weekend, 19/20 March. The 2016 Newman Lectures begin at UEA on Monday April 4 th at 6.30pm and continue on Monday evenings throughout April. The last reflection on Pope Francis encyclical Laudato Si will be led by members of the Justice & Peace Group in the Narthex on Monday 21 st March at 7.30pm. All welcome.
