The Gospel passages from John 6 speak to us of Jesus who says: I am the bread of life. Let us make these days of summer days during which we really consider the place of the Eucharist in our lives of faith, in the Chaplaincy and in the Church and give thanks.

Each week the weekly bulletin will give the name of the intention or person (with RIP added for the deceased) or will say for a private intention if you wish it to remain just known to yourself. The cost for this will be 5 and will go towards the cost of the special oil that is needed. Please contact Father Richard by telephone or and arrange to give the money to him when you see him. May they rest in peace. If you wish a name to be added to this list you must Father Richard or write to him giving permission for yourself or ensure permission has been granted by someone else for their name to appear on this list. The Campoverde Bible Study and Discussion Group meets in the Rusty Nail in Campoverde at 1500 each Tuesday afternoon and continues each week. Dates ahead: Please would organisers send details to Father Richard for inclusion on this sheet as well as the other publicity opportunities in the Chaplaincy. This gives people an idea of what is coming up (and so we don t get clashes or overloaded...). DATES FOR HOLY HOURS AT LAGO JARDÍN These will take place between 1700 and 1800 on Mondays 17 th September, 22 nd October, 12 th November, 17 th December. Don t forget to keep Father Richard informed of people who need home visits and hospital visits and Holy Communion at home. He is always willing to respond to pastoral and sacramental needs.

5 Father Richard writes: This Wednesday I invite the Chaplaincy to gather for the Funeral Mass of Margaret Emily Sampson RIP, the beloved wife of Father Terence, at 1130 at La Siesta Church. This will be a most important celebration for the life of the Chaplaincy and, of course, more particularly so for Father Terence and his family. Please be there to give thanks to God for Margaret s life, take part in the Eucharistic celebration and to be with Father Terence. Margaret and Father Terence had worked assiduously towards the provision of a permanent, dignified, noble and worthy altar for Cristo Resucitado. This has now been delivered. Margaret sadly could not be part of a celebration of the Eucharist with the new altar present (which will be dedicated in memory of her parents) but the Eucharistic sacrifice links the Church on earth with the Church in heaven. This week I leave you to ponder these words: Let saints on earth in concert sing With those whose work is done; For all the servants of our King In earth and heaven are one. One family, we dwell in him, One Church, above, beneath; Though now divided by the stream, The narrow stream of death. Through thee in every nation Thine own their hearts upraise, Offering one pure oblation, One sacrifice of praise: With thee in blest communion The living and the dead Are joined in closest union, One body with one head Rest eternal grant them, After weary fight; Shed on them the radiance Of thy heavenly light.
