Sat Vigil 6.15pm The Induction Mass of Fr Austin Nwosu, CSSp. as the Parish Priest of St Michael 9am, 10.30am* 12noon, 6pm and St Martin Catholic Church Hounslow will take place on Sunday 2nd December. Bishop John Wilson will preside at the noon Induction Mass *Children Liturgy of Fr Austin in our parish. Induction of a parish priest is a canonical requirement (Year 5 & Below) of one promoted to exercise the pastoral care of a parish and to take WEEKDAY MASS possession of the parish. In other words, Induction is the physical installation Mon Sat 9am of a parish priest in a new parish. This takes place within a time determined by Mon -- Thu 6pm the Bishop. The parish priest is to put into possession in accordance with the Fri 7pm procedure approved by diocesan law/custom, by the Bishop or his delegate. CONFESSIONS The Induction of a parish priest could either be done privately or publicly. Fri 6pm There are other acts that are performed during Induction ceremony that Sat include but are not limited to the Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity. The Sat people of the parish are invited to support and cooperate with their parish priest in his ministry in the parish. 2 PARISH NOTICES SIGNING THE CERTIFICATE OF CATHOLIC PRACTICE (CCP) FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS Parents, please visit the Local Council & Schools or visit their websites for forms and other guidelines. Once your Catholic School application is ready, then contact the Priests to sign the CCP as below. 1. The Archdiocese requires that families attend Mass regularly (this means attending Mass every Sunday or Saturday evening) for at least TWO years before a Priest is able to sign the Certificate of Catholic Practice. ATTENDANCE CARD is used to indicate the presence of families at Mass. If you are new to the parish you will need a LETTER FROM YOUR PREVIOUS PARISH PRIESTS. 2. For signing the Certificate of Catholic Practice (A). For Nursery, Reception & Secondary Transfer, please keep reading the newsletter near the time for online appointment(s) with the Priest & visit the parish website. (B). For school years (Yr1 to Yr6) or any other school years, please make an appointment directly with the Priest, details available overleaf. 3. Please make sure you have the attendance card(s) or a letter from your previous Parish before making an appointment. In addition, we also received through the sale at the stall. THE ANNUAL COLLECTION FOR THE SICK AND RETIRED PRIESTS FUND Thank you for your kind generosity. Please have your Dates, Names & Intentions ready to help our Parish Receptionist. PARISH GROUPS BOOKING RENEWALS: This is due now. Please Senorita & Lavina about your Group Meetings Timetable 2019 for Church & Parish Centre bookings. This will also help us to update the Newsletter adverts each week. CHRISTMAS HAMPERS The Parish Council will be preparing Christmas hampers for some of our parishioners. A box will be at the front of the Church near the Lady Chapel for your donations. If you know of any family who are in need this Christmas, please inform either Fr. Austin or Lavina. Please fill in the Parish Registration Form (GREEN COLOUR) available in the Church porch & drop the completed form into the mail-box, Parish Office OR ONLINE FOR REGISTRATION OR AMENDMENT: Please visit our website parish.rcdow.org.uk/hounslow/registration/. MASS ATTENDANCE CARD The new Mass Attendance Card (Green Colour) (Sept 18 to June 19) for children in Year 5 and below only. This Card will be requested by the Priest for signing of the Certificate of Catholic Practise (CCP) for Catholic Schools. Stickers will be given when you ENTER THE CHURCH BEFORE MASS BEGINS. Please ensure your card has a recent PHOTO of your child and their FULL NAME. All parents are reminded that a sticker will only be issued if the child is present for the Mass. 2

3 Stickers will not be given if the card is not presented. PLANNED GIVING: If you would like a box of envelopes, please complete the Planned Giving form (White). If you are a tax-payer, please complete the Gift Aid Declaration form (White) attached and visit the Parish office during office hours. Please CHECK THE DATE on the envelopes before use. MARRIAGE PAPERWORK A GENTLE REMINDER you need to give 6 MONTHS NOTICE of MARRIAGE whether it is taking place HERE or ABROAD - INDIA, PHILIPPINES or elsewhere. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE IT TO THE LAST MINUTE. Couples or individuals should speak to a Priest VERY EARLY IN THE PROCESS so that there is no last minute rush. Marriage Preparation Courses are NOT offered EVERY MONTH so best to see the Priest early to book the course. Please make an appointment directly with the Priest, contact details available overleaf. CATECHETICAL PROGRAMMES CHILDREN S LITURGY for children in Year 5 or below will go into the Parish Centre for the Gospel at their level at 10.30am Mass - Sunday 9 th December WALK WITH ME - A second Walk with Me programme will be offered after Christmas. Please register your interest online FIRST HOLY COMMUNION Next session on Saturday 8 th December 10:30am, Parish Centre. RCIA - Rite of Acceptance: Saturday, 8 th December at the 6:15pm Mass. We welcome those who are preparing to become Catholics at Easter. Please keep them in your prayers. CONFIRMATION Please 'adopt' a candidate to pray for this year as they participate in the programme. Prayer cards available from the board in the Lady Chapel. CHRISTMAS EVE 6PM MASS Children (primary school age) who would like to take part in the Christmas Eve Nativity Mass as readers or actors please come to rehearsals on Saturdays, 15 th and 22 nd December, 10:00am 12noon in the Parish Centre. Parents who like to help make or donate nativity costumes please contact the Parish Catechists. Thank you! EVENTS ST. FRANCIS XAVIER S FEAST AT HOUNSLOW: The Goan chaplaincy will be celebrating the feast of St. Francis Xavier on Monday, 3 rd December at 7pm at Ss. Michael and Martin church, Hounslow. All are warmly invited for the feast of our Patron, St. Francis Xavier. Fr. JUSTICE & PEACE - PRISONERS OF CONSCIENCE: Please send a card to a Prisoner (some held for many years) their beliefs their only crime. Please choose a card, sign it, pay 1.30 and we will do the rest. This will take place after ALL MASSES on weekend 8 th / 9 th December.
