7 MINUTES OF ANNUEL GENERAL BODY MEETING OF YMCA TIRUVALLA, HELD AT 3PM ON AT YMCA TIRUVALLA. The 44 th AGM of YMCA started at 3pm in YMCA hall. President Er. K.V. Mathew presided over meeting. YMCA prayer was read out by Sri. Jubin John and the Paris Basis by Sri. Juan Thomas. The meeting then condoled the death of Sri. Thomas, Thattalunnel and Sri. P.C. Mathew, Peediakel Parampil who passed away to their heavently abode. The meeting remembered the valuable service rendered by those departed and observed a minute of silance to pay their repect to the departed souls. Sri. Ebby Thomas was appointed as recording secretary by the general body. President Er. K.V. Mathew then invited Prof. P.T. Chacko, the returning officer to announce the election proceedings. Prof. P.T. Chacko reported that the number of nomination to the board exceeded the number of seat that fell vacant and as such poll have to be conducted and 4 persons have to be elected out of 8 valid nominations received. R.O. then explained in detail the arrangements and procedures of the poll and announced the commencement of election. Hon. Sec. Ninan M Kochiyil welcomed the gathering. Er. K.V. Mathew in his presidential address highlighted that the team work of committees along with active participation of YMCA members resulted in making his term highly successful and memorable. He presented mementos to Prof. P.S. Zachariah and Mr. Iype Abraham for their valuable contribution to religious committee. Film society convener and Sri. Sajan K Varghese, Vice President Sri. J. Philpose, Hon. Secretary Ninan M Kochiyil and Treasurer Sri. George Varghese were also honored by presenting mementos. YMCA awards from among the children of YMCA members and student members were distributed to the following students for their meritorious performances. 1. Roshini Oommen (D/o M.O. Oommen) 2. Anju Mary (D/o E.A. Elias) 3. Anna Susan Lee (D/o Lee T Cherian) The Report of the year was presented by Sri. Joy John. Following questions was raised in writing to the board. The first question was regarding the differences of amount of grant received between the annual march 31 st. Sri. G.T. Abraham suggested that such amount should be included in annual accounts specifically in brackets. Mr. G.T. Abraham suggested that the property in muthoor may be named V.K. Eapen memorial centre. The president clarified that the matter will discussed in board. Sri. P.V. Alexander, Sri. Biju Mathilunkal, Sri. Jacob Cherian and Sri. Koshy Ninan actively participated in the 23

Treasurer Sri. George Varghese presented the supplementary budget for the year and explained the additional expense incurred. The supplementary budget was passed, proposed by Sri. Biju Mathilunkal and seconded by Sri. Rajan Jacob. The audited accounts for was presented by the Treasurer. A question was raised by Sri. G.T. Abraham with regard to the outstanding loans of the YMCA. Treasurer replayed that the persons who have loaned the amount are are being requested to convert the same as donation YMCA. With this the account passed duly proposed by Biju Mathilunkal proposed by Saju Mathew. The General Body the appointed Sri. 9 General Body meeting YMCA 31/03/12 President E.A. Elias presided After prayer, Paris Basis was read out by Prof. P.S. Zachariah Dr. Reginold Varghese welcomed the gathering. Condolence resolution regarding the sad demise of B.K. Eapen, one of the earliest members of the Tiruvalla YMCA, was presented by Sri. Joy John President E.A. Elias delivered the presidential address in which he recalled all important events and programmes of YMCA during the previous year Treasurer Sri Eby Thomas Presented the annual Budget for the year During discussion on the Budget Prof. Prasad Thomas proposed a hike in the rent for conducting other programmes such as feast in the shuttle court, to Rs. 600/-. President assured to present the proposal in the Director Board Sri. Shaji Parayathukattil wanted to know specific reasons for the decrease in income by way of rent for the main hall & library hall. Secretary explained the reasons, such as renovation of hall and library, resultant inability to rent out the hall and library room during the period Sri. Shaji Parayathukattil proposed to pass the Budget and Adv. Oommen Alexander seconded. The budget was passed Sri Sajan Varghese insisted that the orientation course for the Teachers and Parents of the vikas School should be conducted regularly. 10 Minutes of the Special General Body Meeting 23/08/2012 The Special General Body meeting of Y.M.C.A. Tiruvalla started with a prayer by Prof. P.S. Zachariah. Prof. Zachariah read out the Paris Basis also. Sri. Eby Thomas Treasurer welcomed the gathering. Sri. E.A. Elias delivered the Presidential address in which he mentioned about the intention of calling the Special General Body Meeting. Viz: to seek the approval of General Body to purchase 84 cents of land adjacent to the 50 cent land already donated to the YMCA by the family members of Late V.K. Eapen for Vikas School. The president described the steps taken so far for developing the land already received. The president invited opinions and suggestions of the General Body in the matter. Sri. Rajan Jacob Chairman, Finance committee presented the feasibility study report of the Committee entrusted by the Board of Directors for the purchace. Suggestions put forward for raising funds for purchase are the following 1. To collect interest free or low interest Loans from Y.M.C.A. members. 2. To take Bank Loan. Sri. Koshy Thomas told the gathering that the owner of the land has consented to sell the land at the rate of one lakh per cent. Sri. Joy John suggested that we should make an attempt to persuade the owner of the land to reduce selling price. Sri. K.P. Philipose said that it will be a huge liability for Y.M.C.A. if we purchase the additional land when we have to spend a huge amount for leveling the land already in our possession. Sri. Mathew Koshy suggested that at any cost YMCA have to purchase the land. Prof. Prasad Thomas Kodiatt dealt at the length with the necessity of acquiring additional land for the overall development of Vikas School. He said that the possibilities of taking loan should also be explored in addition to raising funds through donations and interest free loans from Y.M.C.A. members and well-wishers. He added that we should go ahead with the process. Possibilities of launching projects like sports complex etc can also be explored. Sri. Mathew Chalakuzhy raised apprehensions about our abilities to repay loans proposed to be taken, when we have no returns from this project Sri. P.S. Jose whole-heartedly supported the project as the development of Vikas School is a dire necessity for Tiruvalla at the present. He exhorted the General Body to take risk and adopt a positive attitude. Prof. Koshy Nainan suggested that we should think of our ability to repay the loans proposed to taken. We should formulate the plans to get returns from this project. Dr. P.G. Abraham suggested that fund can be raised with the co-operation of Friends of Tiruvalla abroad and that taking loans from Bank should be thought of as a last measure only. Sri P.D. George said that although at present it may seem to be a liability for Y.M.C.A., in future the land now purchased will be a great asset as this will be a landmark in development of Vikas School and Y.M.C.A. as a whole. Sri. Biju Mathilunkal said that instead of prolonging the discussions the need of the hour is to take decision in favour of purchasing the land forthwith. Sri. Sajan Varghese suggested to seek the co-operation of all Christian denominations and N.G.O. s and make conserted effort for the successful implementation of the project. The General Body finally took the unanimous decision to purchase the land in the name of Y.M.C.A. Public Charitable Trust through following steps 26
