9 PARISH NEWS 47TH PARISH DAY CELEBRATIONS Our Parish celebrated its 47th birthday last month. The Dean of Studies, SATHRI, Serampore - Rev. Dr. P G George Achen was the Chief Guest for our Parish Day this year and talked about a Purpose Driven Church and its essentials. During the Parish Day we had the children s dedication and honouring of Senior Citizen s of our Church by giving Ponnada. After the programme, a sumptuous lunch was served to all Parish members. ENGLISH SERVICE CHRISTMAS CAROLS The English Service Carols were held on the 17th of December and the message was given by Rev. Dr. P.G. George. The three choirs - the Senior Choir, the Children s Choir and True Calling - the Youth Fellowship Choir put up beautiful songs giving the reason of Christmas.The programme was graced by Thomas Zachariah achen, Joe Mathew achen, Roby Mathew achen. MALAYALAM CHRISTMAS CAROLS On Thursday 22nd December we saw the Carols presented by our Parish Choir and the Junior Choir. The message for the Service was shared by the Chief Guest for the evening Rev. Dr. P.G. George. Both the Services had the presence and encouragement of the Vicar, Asst. Vicar and our Youth Chaplain and was attended by a large number of parish members. It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness. Charles Spurgeon

10 PARISH NEWS TSS - PICNIC & ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PROGRAMME Trinity Sunday School held its annual picnic at the Creekside park on December 3. Around 350 children, parents and teachers played various games, relaxed in the green surroundings and enjoyed the day out. The annual Christmas programme of Trinity Sunday School was held on December 10 at the Orthodox Cathedral parish hall. Children put up various songs, choreographed displays and skits to remind us about the birth of Jesus. The programme was graced by Thomas Zachariah achen, Joe Mathew achen, Roby Mathew achen and attended by children, parents, teachers and friends. SEVIKA SANGHAM CHRISTMAS CAROLS Sevika Sangham had their Christmas programme on December 12th with different area members presenting Carols, skits and other programmes. Rev. Dr. P G George achen gave the message which was attended by our Vicar and Asst. Vicar as well. JUNIOR CAROLS Junior Carols of our Sunday school for this year was held on 23rd December and students from Preschool to Young Adult II (Grade 12) staged various programmes for the carol evening. We praise our Lord for leading us in the year 2016 and helping all of us to see yet another year in God has promised to supply all our needs. What we don t have now, we don t need now. 11 PARISH NEWS YOUTH FELLOWSHIP - GOOD SHEPHERDS INITIATIVE As in previous years, our Youth Fellowship members went to some of our members houses caroling which is called the Good Shepherds Initiative. Apart from the singing time, they were able to get into a time of knowing family members and fellowshipping with them. YUVAJANA SAKHYAM - CAROL ROUNDS & CHRISTMAS GIFT TO LABOUR CAMPS The members of Yuvajana Sakhyam visited 3 Labour camps in UAE and distributed food packets and Christmas cakes to 170 people who are going through tough living conditions. A small token to bring a smile to their faces! Sakhyam members also went for Carol rounds to some of the Sakhyam members houses.
