7 MAR THOMA SLEEHA SYROMALABAR CATHEDRAL Dear Young People and Friends, Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle: Our Father in faith is called Dukrana: Remembrance. It is the remembrance of the martyrdom of St. Thomas at Mylapore in 72 A.D. His blood is in the seed of our faith in Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. May his prayers strengthen us in our commitment to our Syro Malabar Church and let his example inspire us to be always loyal to our Lord as we confess our faith in the words of St. Thomas, My Lord and My God. This year the great feast of St. Thomas is hosted by our young people the Youth of our Cathedral Parish. It is a sign that our youth are ready to take the responsibility of our growing community. I am sure that this will inspire the youth of our other communities to come forward and support the growth of our faith communities. It was at the intervention of St. Thomas, Our Lord Jesus declared the eternal truth: I am the way, the truth and the life. In this country where we are rooted now, let us follow the way of the Lord, witnessing to the truth of Christ to attain the life promised by Christ. Let us translate this message of Jesus in to our lives through the practice of charity corporal works and spiritual works during this great Jubilee Year of Mercy. Fr Vicar and Parishioners Once again the annual Feast day of St Thomas has approached us. The annual feast in a parish is an occasion to rejuvenate our faith and traditions and imparts lot of joy and happiness in the life of a parish. St Thomas the Apostle of Christ, our Patron saint shared his faith to our forfathers and same faith is being transmitted to us realizing the kingdom of God among us today. Let us be thankful about our Christian faith. As members of the body of Christ we have a great responsibility to share the same faith to the young generations. It is more enthusiastic to know that our youngsters are taking lead for the festal celebrations this year which is a great land mark in the history of our Diocese.
