I get these from time to time from your church and it s nice. Even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference. January 16 (Tuesday) Our Men of Faith Breakfast Resumes By Jim Host Join us on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in Kearns Hall for our next Men of Faith Breakfast. Our speaker will be Jerry Tipton, the award winning columnist for the Lexington Herald-Leader, who is the longest term columnist covering Kentucky for the Herald-Leader; he has written about Kentucky Basketball since the season; he has seen 1,127 games and covered 3 National Championships. At our meeting he will discuss great players he has seen as well as great teams. UK will be playing pre-conference favorite--florida this night at home; he will give his assessment of this year s team. Ladies are always invited to attend this popular event. The cost is $10 per person. Please be sure to sign up at the table located close to the entrance, so that we will have plenty of food. Feel free to invite friends, family and neighbors! Congregational Meeting By Charlotte Krasinski We will have a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, January 21, 2018 immediately following the worship service for the purpose of approving the budget. Please place this date on your calendar and plan to attend. Family in Need There is a Lexington family that is in need that has 5 children, ages 15, 14, 12, 4 and 3. They need 2 twin beds, 2 full size beds, 1 queen bed, dressers, sofa, loveseat or chairs. This family basically has nothing. Please contact Norma in the church office at if you have something to donate. She will make arrangements to have your donation picked up and delivered to the family.

Women s Fellowship Update By Susan Slusher Women's Fellowship had a busy We furnished Liberty Road Elementary School Family Resource Center with underwear, leggings, and long pants in October. 2. We took part in the massive yard sale that Liberty Road Faith Fellowship put together. 3. We collected hats, gloves, mittens and scarves for children at Liberty Road Elementary and Yates Elementary Family Resource Centers in December. 4. We sent Birthday Greetings, Get Well cards, Thinking of you cards and Sympathy cards to every member of Liberty Road Faith Fellowship each month. Projects for We are sponsoring a 5-Week Bible Study and have twelve people signed up to begin on January 9 th in the Library. The Bible study will meet at the church every Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. We will be on the Fayette County School System snow schedule. 2. We are sponsoring a day of learning about all the ways we can pray. Ms. Joanne Fortson will lead this day of worship and study. We invite every woman of the church to attend and would love for everyone to bring a friend or two for this day of exploring prayer. The date and other information will be announced at a later time. 3. We continue to send Birthday cards, Thinking of You cards, Get Well cards and Sympathy cards to members in our church every month.

He has been married to his lovely wife, Donna, for many years and they both are so proud of their daughter, Amanda, who sings for us in our worship services from time to time.

Pray for the family of Ann Holt, who went home to be with the Lord on December 27, Pray for the family of Anna Ruth Gordley who went home to be with the Lord on January 4. Pray for Ben Lester, son of Boni and T.A. Lester, who has lesions in his lungs which will require further testing. (Les and Cathy Anderson) Pray for Bill McConathy who has been in and out of the V.A. Hospital. Pray for our new Pastor, Rev. Lisa Wood as she prepares to lead us. Praise that Carol Taylor s brother, Clark Pell is doing well at home! Pray for Laura Vaughns, niece of Carol Taylor, who was on the train that derailed in Washington. She is injured and has had some surgery, but should be okay in time after some therapy. Carol praises God that Laura was not injured any worse than she was. Above Left are Fred and Elaine Jordan, sitting with Brenda and Dennis Jordan on the right. Fred and Dennis are brothers. The In-Laws - above left are Rev. Marty Singley and wife, Sandy, standing with Vicki and John Clark on the right. The Clark s son is married to the Singley s daughter.
6 Pray for Brian Fortson, Joanne Fortson s step-son, who is having some very serious medical issues. Pray for Ann Ray, mother of Valda May, who broke her hip recently and underwent surgery. She is currently in a health care facility in Nicholasville. Pray for Jim Hyde whose blood sugar is still running dangerously high. Sometimes he is unable to go to dialysis because of the high levels. Please lift him up in prayer, as well as his wife, Margaret who cares for him. Pray for Ruby Montgomery, mother of Pat Potts, who is now living at Lexington Country Place. She is still in Hospice care. Pray for Ruby and Pat during this difficult and emotional time. Pray for Margaret D. Walters, who is having medical issues and for her family. Her sister s husband fell and broke his hip and had to have surgery. She also asks that we pray for our soldiers and our country. Pray for Nanci Barnhart, sister-inlaw of Ginny Berry. Praise to God that our friend, Bill Kingsbury has been cleared to begin preparation for a stem cell transplant at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. The blood clot problem has been resolved. This congregation truly loves each other and the fact that we are brothers and sisters in Christ is like the icing on the cake!

Coffeetalk Events, Lexington is joining with Erwin Educational Ministries, Harrodsburg, to present a very special powerful day of workshops to bring healing and growth in understanding how we can live through some of life s toughest issues that many times are considered taboo to talk about within the local church. These workshops are designed to lead the non-christian and the Christian to walk through these dark valleys. Topics for discussion for this event are being led by some of Kentucky s key professionals trained in the field of their workshops...known all over Kentucky and surrounding states for their contributions. Topics are (1) Helping Without Hurting, Rev. Richard Dwyer, Counselor (Lexington); (2) Divorce During and After, Dr. James Stillwell, Counselor (Lexington); (3) Families Dealing with Addiction, Liz Cook, Counselor (Danville); (4) Surviving Suicide, Diana Sisk, Hospice Counselor, Lexington; (5) Ministering to Widows, Dr. Cheryl Erwin, Harrodsburg, (6) World Crafts, Wanda Walker, KBC WMU, Louisville. Our amazing worship team includes Campbellsville University Praise Team; Sandy Gross. She is an inspirational speaker from Louisville and will talk about how God brought her through homelessness and addiction to leading women to be strong Christ followers. We are also excited that Amber Philpott, WKYT-TV News Anchor will kick off the day as part of our illustrious team.
