Wood We don t forget to play because we grow old; we grow old because we forget to play! So who s up for some fun and games? (show of hands) I took pleasure in watching three generations of participants enjoy a morning of a little friendly competition a couple of Saturdays ago as they scattered throughout the community checking things off their list of scavenger hunt items. Everyone seemed to relish the friendly competition and getting to engage people from the area who were performing random acts of kindness, wearing boots, walking a dog, blowing a bubble with bubble gum, etc. When we met together to eat and debrief, several of us observed that it would ve been a great idea to have worn our LRFF T-shirts, and perhaps been able to give a little treat bag from our church to share with those who allowed their pictures to be made with us. We were, after all, engaged in an activity representing our community of faith, and while our objective was fun and fellowship among our own folks, we also encountered people who may have been interested in a church whose members were out having a great time playing together on a Saturday morning. As kingdom people and members of Liberty Road Faith Fellowship, let s be intentional about seizing opportunities to re-present the presence of Christ to those from all walks of life. May the Light and love of God for all people radiate from us as we journey together as a family of faith.

S.W.E.E.T. Wednesday August 8 at 6:00 p.m. By Rev. Lisa Wood Jack DuArte, Lexington resident and author of seven installments of a best-selling WWII series of novels, will be featured at our next S.W.E.E.T. Wednesday night pot-luck, August 8, at 6:00 in Kearns Hall. Jack will be sharing about his writings and signing copies of his latest release, The First James Bond for those who wish to purchase a copy of the book that night. Be sure to sign up in the lobby if you plan to attend. The First James Bond is the seventh installment of Jack DuArte s best-selling World War II Series. As WW II draws to a close, Winston Churchill orders a super-secretive M Section British commando unit to remove Martin Bormann, the key to Nazi Germany s banking system. Utilizing the River Spree, these commandos use kayaks to defy the odds and snatch Bormann from under the noses of advancing Russian forces in downtown Berlin. Bormann is taken back to London where he provides Great Britain s Intelligence Service vital information to help alleviate Great Britain s horrendous war debt. From start to finish, The First James Bond unveils this masterful scenario and its spell-binding ending. Be sure to sign up in the foyer if you plan to attend our S.W.E.E.T. Wednesday on August 8.
