1 Volume 10, Issue 12 March 21, 2018 Who We Are Liberty Road Faith Fellowship is a Multi-denominational gathering of Christians who enjoy traditional worship services. We Gather for Bible Study The Adult I Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m. in room 3. Bob A Word from the Pastor... Rev. Lisa V. Wood Thus the saying, One sows and another reaps is true. Jesus Dandelions, forsythia, and jonquils! Oh my! I m seeing these flowers blooming all over my yard as evidence of another spring. Not having lived a full calendar year in my home, each new flower that blooms and reveals its colors is a delightful surprise! I didn t plant them. I didn t even know they were there! They are a bonus gift from the former owners that I get to enjoy. I get to reap the benefits of what they sowed. We have opportunities to literally plant seeds that allow others to reap a harvest. Liberty Elementary School will create a vegetable AND a flower garden this year and I hope you ll consider how you may share your time and green thumbs as a volunteer with this project. The faithful presence of Richard Baber, David and Jackie Bondurant, Karalee Cain, Mary Anne Pollack, Wayne Sullivan, Marcia Oakley, and Susan Slusher is already representing us well at the school and bears witness to our church s desire to minister to the school community in a meaningful way. (The added bonus of being able to harvest some of the fruits of our labor this summer is an added incentive to participate in this collaborative effort!) Jesus told his disciples that they would reap what others have sown. May we as a faith community be committed to the kingdom work of sowing seeds. If we are faithful, others may reap a harvest of God s abundance, be it tomatoes and beans, or friendships and kinships in Christ. Let s get our hands dirty together! See you at the garden!

He did not dream of being anything but a TV weatherman when he was growing up. His dream became a reality when he was a sophomore at Iowa State University when he joined the staff at WOI-TV in Des Moines working on air in different capacities. After 2 years chasing tornadoes and finishing his degree, Bill moved to Spartanburg, S.C. where he met his wife, Connie. He then did a 3-year stint as the Chief Meteorologist at WSLS-TV in Roanoke, Virginia. It was there that Bill s Weather 101 was created. Since arriving in Lexington in 1999, Bill Meck has seen over 100,000 Kentucky kids with his Weather 101 presentations. Before coming to LEX 18, Bill was weekend meteorologist at WTHR- TV in Indianapolis. While in Indianapolis in 1997, his daughter was born. Seven days later he taped the birth of Indiana s largest tornado of the year.

His knowledge and enthusiasm for weather has led to his receiving Seals of Approval from both the American Meteorological Society, and the National Weather Association. He has received numerous awards and was voted Kentucky s Favorite Weatherman by a Kentucky Monthly Magazine. Each session is from 9:00 a.m. to noon, with a continental breakfast available before each session. The Lay School brochure describes the class as: After this millennialong Good Friday when our planet has undergone relentless ecocrucifixion, what does the resurrection of Jesus offer for Creation and humanity? Through biblical study, theological discussions, and dramatic performance art, Dr. Schade will guide participants through a journey to discover how we can proclaim God s creative and redeeming ecoresurrection for our lives, our churches, and our communities. Personally, this sounds very interesting. Attend in person at Lexington Theological Seminary, 230 Lexington Green, Suite 300, Lexington, KY or online. *Please plan to attend all classes, as each lesson builds upon the preceding one. If you have to miss one session, you may watch online. TO REGISTER, call Norma at (859) ; make your check for $40 to LRFF and write Lay School tuition on the memo line. Please register by April 2.
