Faith from the Front Porch By Jackie Bondurant Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ephesian 6:4 If you see the leaves on the trees turned backwards in the wind, rain is on the way. How do I know this? That is what Grandpa used to tell me. (I told you about my Grandmother s sayings, and now I will tell you what words of wisdom Grandpa said.) Of course, he wasn t raised to be politically correct either. Whenever we saw an old man standing on a street corner, he would say, That man s name is John. It didn t matter that my grandfather, who was named John, didn t know the man. When we were traveling south at Christmas, he would say, always get behind a semi-tractor trailer if the weather is bad and follow it. And, the one thing I strictly obey is to never take anything out of the cemetery. Grandpa was never wrong.
