1 Volume 10, Issue 47 November 21, 2018 Who We Are Liberty Road Faith Fellowship is a Multi-denominational gathering of Christians who enjoy traditional worship services. A Word from the Pastor to God be the glory, great things he hath done! Where to Find Us We worship at 2734 Liberty Road. You can find us on the web at We Gather for Fellowship Coffee/Donut Fellowship Time: 9:00-10:30 a.m. in room 6 Drink it up! Dump your Cup! Thank you for helping us keep our church clean and tidy by keeping all the food and beverages in the Hospitality room (room #6) on Sunday mornings. We Gather for Bible Study The Living Faith Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m. in room 9. Scot Our devotion for the Lord and for kingdom work is evident in our spirit of joyful giving of our time, talents, skills and monetary resources. We collected over $700 at our thanksgiving meal that will be donated to God s pantry. Your offerings to this charity were made freely and gladly. As individuals, and as a community of faith, this is our witness to God s goodness (all the time) and providence. This is the week that families will gather, reconnect, and break bread together. Each family has its own unique dynamics, but for the most part, we celebrate being together with an intimate group of people who know us warts and all and love us unconditionally. I bless you as you celebrate and give thanks with the people you love and who love you. God certainly blessed humankind by establishing the family, and by extension, his Church. I look forward to celebrating with my children this weekend, introducing them to my new house in Lexington, and worshiping with the ones who can stay for next Sunday s service. You have been my church family since February and continue to be in my prayers of praise and thanksgiving. I want you to know that I pray for you individually, and as a family unit and am humbled to serve God in ministry as your pastor. I thank you for your prayers and for your outpouring of

By Susan Slusher Women's Fellowship would like to thank those of you who took time to fill one of the shoe boxes for children around the world this year. We took 75 shoe boxes to Porter Memorial Baptist Church last week where they will be loaded onto transfer trucks heading to Boone, North Carolina, where they will be checked for contents and shipped to their final destination. This ministry reaches thousands of children all over the world. Each box will include a New Testament in the language of the child it is going to. We each prayed over the boxes we put together. Last Sunday Pastor Lisa prayed a blessing over them that they go to exactly the right child. Finally, they will be prayed over at Porter Memorial Baptist Church and again in Boone, North Carolina, before they leave this country. The children who receive these boxes may get the first and only gift of their life, and they will receive the good news of Jesus Christ and His saving grace. Thank you for taking time to share a gift of love to children you may not ever meet. Your gift of love will help spread the Word of God to children the world over and hopefully bring each child hope in belonging to the Kingdom of God. Poinsettias If you would like to place a poinsettia(s) in honor or in memory of a loved one, please fill out a form in your bulletin or call the church office. The cost is $8.00 per poinsettia. The poinsettias will be placed in the sanctuary on December 1 and you can take them home after the service on Christmas Eve. You can make your check out to Liberty Road Faith Fellowship and write Poinsettia in the memo section of your check. We will include your information in an insert in the bulletin on Christmas Eve.

4 Closed. No activities scheduled. Prayer Requests To add a prayer request, please fill out a Prayer Request card, call the church office at , or submit a prayer request or update online by going to Libertyroadfaithfellowship.org. Most requests are left in the bulletin and newsletter for 2 weeks or so and will be taken out as space is needed for other requests. If you want your request to remain in for a longer period of time...please provide updates. Pray for the family of Jim Hyde, 82, went home to be with the Lord on November 16. Margaret s address is 2622 Flying Ebony Drive, Lexington, KY Pray for Pat Bain, who is in St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of a sepsis infection. Pray for Jean Simpson, who is having health issues and has had multiple medical tests, and for her husband, Silver Simpson, who is dealing with serious health issues at home. Silver and Jean live at 1617 Cantrill Drive, Lexington, KY Faith for the Holidays - Thanksgiving By Jackie Bondurant Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that you may grow up into your salvation, 1 Peter 2:2 Sitting on the porch on a crisp fall day is a bittersweet time. Soon the porch furniture will be tucked away in the shed, the leaves will be gone from the trees, and orange and yellow decorations will make way for Christmas greens. Thanksgiving Day 1971, however, will always stand out in hearts full of memories because it marks the birthday of our daughter, Anna Rebecca. She arrived at noon that day while our doctor wolfed down the largest cloverleaf roll I d ever seen. Affectionately referred to as missurprise, Becky s arrival was a month early since she was expected on Christmas Day. (The fact that we d moved to Desha Road three days prior might have played a role in the event.) As usually happens when God is working his plan, her birth was well timed. David s Mom was hosting the family dinner, and when he arrived (a little late) without me, everyone knew something was happening. Since the hospital was a mere block from their house, no time was lost eating and getting to the hospital. And the memories continued on from then till now. Oh, you asked, what did I do for Thanksgiving? I was treated to a diabetic meal of turkey breast, green beans, and apples which I ate lying flat in bed, on my side, through the bars of the bed. God is good. All the time. Thanks be to God.

5 Pray for the family of Joyce Evans, who went home to be with the Lord recently. Joyce s niece is Vicki Brown, 701 Troy Trail, Lexington, KY Pray for Chad Manley, who is recovering from a very serious liver surgery. Doctors were not able to remove all the tumors in his liver during the 12-hour surgery. He will have four more rounds of chemo followed by another surgery to remove tumors from the right side of his liver. Pray that he will be able to handle the chemo therapy. (Mary Anne Pollock) Pray for Brian and Stephanie Carpenter, whose special needs daughter, Avigayil Christina, who was about 6 or 7, died in her sleep. (Booker) Pray for Elijah (Elya in his language) a little boy at the Bible Orphan Ministry in Ukraine, who has a life threatening cyst in his brain. He currently has bronchitis and has not been able to have the surgery. Pray for Fred Smith, a former member, who is in the hospital dealing with cancer and is not doing well. Pray also for his wife, Gussi. A Legends Reflection... By Pat Host My thoughts in the middle of the night. The Saturday morning LRFF Legends Breakfast has brought faith and fellowship into a most special experience for those in attendance. I would like to think that in 2019 we will grow and encourage even more family members to 'rise to the occasion' to learn from and enjoy our monthly gatherings. We give thanks for a delightful and meaningful morning with Pat Day on November 17th. Our Legends breakfast was a perfect way to begin the Thanksgiving week of inspiration...earlene looked so content as she remembered well sharing a memory of traveling with Bill and having met Pat (Day) aboard ship during one of their adventures of the past. Having Tim & Susan Philpot with us made it even more memorable. The surprise a celebration cake generously brought in by Scot Reeves for a Saturday morning salute to Sarah & me. Camera in hand, we should all thank Sarah for recording all our Liberty Road Faith Fellowship moments throughout the year. A very blessed holiday remembrance. Thankful.
