1 Volume 11, Issue 1 January 2, 2019 Who We Are Liberty Road Faith Fellowship is a Multi-denominational gathering of Christians who enjoy traditional worship services. Where to Find Us We worship at 2734 Liberty Road. You can find us on the web at We Gather for Fellowship Coffee/Donut Fellowship Time: 9:00-10:30 a.m. in room 6 Thank you for helping us keep our church clean and tidy by keeping all the food and beverages in room 6 (Hospitality room) on Sunday mornings. We Gather for Bible Study The Living Faith Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m. in room 9. Scot Reeves, teacher. A Word from the Pastor I m still basking in the afterglow of a first Christmas together experience with my LRFF church family. We have already invested much of ourselves in each other through shared events and special initiatives. My heart smiles as I observe the ways you care for each other. The Spirit of Christ is embodied as you carry God s love into the world through ministering to all God s children. I pray that, in the coming year, we will continue to look for new and meaningful ways to manifest and reveal God s unconditional love, whether it s within our own church family, in Lexington, or across the globe. It will be in these efforts that we distinguish ourselves as a member of the Body of Christ, rather than a club who talks about doing good to feel good about ourselves. I will be reaching out to you in the weeks and months ahead. I m interested in hearing your thoughts about how, as a family of faith, we can be the hands and feet of Christ in our world. Meanwhile, if you have some specific ideas or thoughts about a special ministry project, I hope you ll contact me and share your vision. I am already in prayer for us as a church as we forge, faithfully and faith-filled, into a new year together. May the grace of God, the love of Jesus Christ, and the peace of the Holy Spirit dwell in our hearts in the coming year as we continue to be transformed into the imago dei. Sincerely,

New Year s Day for David and I is usually spent with wood burning in the insert, football, corned beef and cabbage, and black-eyed peas. Falling in the midst of winter and no chance of sitting on our porch, we are content to use the day to reflect on the past and dream about the future. Personal achievements both successful and not-so-much, family, new and old friends, and, at our age, the chance to live another year, all dance around in our minds. The deaths of loved ones, far and near, is a thought that ruminates in the mind, but only for a moment. As Shakespeare wrote: In the meantime, let me be that I am, and seek not to alter me. If anything, I know that Christ came to teach us how to live now. His words describing life and how-to of living provide us with the strength to face death with dignity and certainty of a future. Christ said: Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.

Romans 12:12 Don t Hibernate for the Winter - Pause to P.A.W. P.A.W. Begins January 8 We know it s cold out there. We know the days are still short, and sometimes a little gloomy, but here s a way to beat the winter blah s! Join us on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Kearns Hall as we walk and pray our way around the Pray & Walk gym. It s a great way to begin a new discipline that will benefit both body and soul. No far-seeing telescope can bring into visibility the coastline of His shoreless supply... No barrier can hinder Him from pouring out His blessings... He forgives and He forgets. He creates and He cleanses. He restores and He rebuilds. He heals and He helps. He reconciles and He redeems. He comforts and He carries. He lifts and He loves. He is the God of the second chance, the fat chance, the slim chance... Just give me Jesus! He makes change possible! Christmas Eve... ABOVE LEFT: Our Christmas Eve candlelight service.
