This is the general session at the State Knights of Columbus 117 th Annual Convention which was held on April 27, 28 and 29 th in Jefferson City Pictured with Joe Rosenthal, State Deputy, are Joe Brown, Jim Gerke and Dan Debert who attended the Knights of Columbus State Convention in Jefferson City $2, Donation to Community of Christ presented to Jim Nevins by Grand Knight Jim Gerke and Financial Secretary Dan Debert

2 At the State Convention, we had the opportunity to attend several workshops. An election of state officers was held, and many reports were given. Checks were given to Vitae, Met Life, and Pregnancy Help Center during the General Session totaling $61, Cardinal Glennon Hospital also received a check for $126, Special Olympics Missouri received checks for $709,400.00, plus a check from Knights on Bikes who donated $42,300.00; Columbian Charities for Wheelchair Mission received $12,670.00; Agape House/Prison Concern Ministry received $3, Cardinal Glennon Hospital received $638, for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. This is very impressive and something that all Knights should be extremely proud of. Scholarships were awarded to Mara McGee, Versailles School and Nathan Izatt, Climax Springs School, Congratulations to these two wonderful students. Winners from our Lenten raffle were Jim Halloran, $200 and Ray Lovell, $50. Congratulations to the Winners. Hours earned will be credited to the Knights through the Shootout. Father Schmitz is asking for ideas for the 150 th celebration of the oldest church in the Lake area- St. Patrick Catholic Church. Following praying the Rosary, we will meet in St. Joseph s Room. Summer is quickly approaching which also means our annual election will be held during our May meeting. As per Article VI of the By Laws which state election of officers shall be held at the regular meeting in May of each year. Current nominees are as follows President: Linda Neff Treasurer: Joyce Szemplenski Vice President: Nora Lee Waisner Secretary: Jeanie Colby Trustee: Marcy Brown and Sharon Konuch 1 year remaining for 2 year term The third Trustee position is open. 5 May Events: Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship: The last date to enter an essay for the 2018 scholarship was April 1st. No application were submitted. Therefore a vote was taken and agreed upon to roll the approved expense to future scholarships excluding $500 which will be donated to the church for the 150 th anniversary celebration. May Meeting Hostesses: Thank you Shirley Gebhardt and Martie Debert for volunteering to be hostesses. Fish Fry: Thank you to Jim Ellis for saving cans used to raise the dessert cutting tables. If you are scheduled on the set up for the fish fry, the cans are located in the closet closest to the coffee counter. This has been a huge help for those long periods for preparing the dessert plates. Jim will have 4 more cans available at the next fry which will allow us to raise all dessert tables. The next Fish Fry will be May 18 th, team A is scheduled. Thank you to all that may not have been scheduled to work the fish fry but jumped into help anyway. It is truly appreciated. May will be the last fish fry until after the summer break. Thank you for the wonderful desserts and time spent serving our guest. Please ensure you have added your hours to the volunteer log. Pray for Healing of Our Ladies: Please keep the following Ladies in your prayers for healing and strength. Great things happen through the power of prayer. Or if a name should be removed, please contact Linda Neff. Miscellaneous: Luncheon for Cancer Patients and Survivors: Please consider volunteering for this worthy event. It will be held in June. The Ladies have been asked to help in serving. If you are able to be of assistance please reach out to Bernie Marco. Volunteer Hours for 2018: Please ensure hours for all activities, not just working fish fry, but baking, running errands, etc., have been added to the volunteer log book. It is easy to forget all the activities surrounding the many opportunities in which many support. Best Choice Labels: Please continue savings Best Choice labels.
