Upcoming Events Calendar of Events July Birthdays New brother Knights 2st and 3rd degree Volume 1, Issue 1 Grand Knight s Message Brother Knights, We are about to embark on another fraternal year and I am looking forward to serving you. I feel that with the experience and knowledge that I gained during my previous tenure as Grand Knight and as District Deputy, we can make significant gains this year. I must confess that I did not make a passing grade in Mind Reading 101 and therefore, I will need for you to let me know what you would like to see our Council accomplish. Several of our members have indicated that they would like to have shorter meetings and more social events. These will be two of my priorities this year. June 2011 you to fill out the attached survey form and forward it to me. I would also like your families input, please have your families complete this form or a second copy if necessary. One of our members came up with the idea of recognizing and/or celebrating wedding anniversaries. Please include the date of your wedding anniversary on the survey form, I am also attaching a copy of the minutes from our last meeting. In order to save time the minutes will not be read at the meeting however the membership will be allowed to make corrections if necessary. Petty Grand Knight- Council 4771 Grand Knight Survey 5 I would encourage each of I can be reached at HISPANIC ROUNDTABLE INFORMATION KC SESSIONS New KC Officers Texas Knights Football Frenzy 6 6 The Hispanic Roundtable of the Knights of Columbus Council # 4771, will hold three orientation and recruitment sessions on July 10 th after the 7 am, 8:30 am and the 1:15 masses. The sessions will last about 45 minutes and be held in the Adult Education Rooms located in the Gymnasium area. There will be coffee and doughnuts/ pan dulce for participants. Men wishing to attend must be over 18 years of age, practical catholic and of sound morals. We look forward to seeing you and sharing. 2 Page 2 Family of the Month July and Of The Year Martin Marty and Juanita McDermed The officers and Council # 4771, wish to express our deepest appreciation for the work and support that both Marty and Juanita have given to the council and members. Marty has served as Grand Knight for the past 2 years and was involved in a majority of the council events during his tenure. Under his leadership our Council had a very successful record of achievements. Juanita is heavily involved with the Altar Society and took care of many of the sewing needs for our priests and church environmental projects. They completed these good works while dealing with serious family issues out of state. Marty, kept in touch with the council and the activities during his time and contributing to the success of the council. Again Thanks for a job well done. God Bless and keep you in his hands. Knight of the Year 2010 Johnny Guajardo Johnny has been an active member of the Knights of Columbus and has reached the 4th Degree Level. Among his contributions as Church Director coordination of the Thursday night Adoration, Columbus Club (6 years), current Chairman of the CC Board, Johnny was involved in the remodeling efforts of the KC Hall. Johnny has supported activities of the Knights volunteering for rental cleanup of the hall, pancake breakfast, spaghetti dinner for ICCS and other similar events. Church and ICCS activities include School Board of ICCS, Fall Festival and as an usher. A big THANK YOU from the officers and members of Council # God Bless. Knight of the Month July Roy Metzler Roy has been and continues to be involved in ICC Parish Council, Planning and Finance Committees, and with similar committees and the annual ICCS Silent Auction in support of the school and the children of our parish. Roy is probably more know for his participation and support of the Annual Msgr. King Golf Tournament, which has raised funds for the ICC Youth Group and other ministries of our church. A husband, father, busi- nessman and fellow Brother Knight, Roy is deserving of this honor.

It turned out a lot better than I was expecting. We grossed over $300 and after expenses we cleared $141. This amount is sufficient to fund the Rosary Program for the upcoming year. I think that I gained some insight on the use of the grill and hopefully in January I will be able to do a better job.
