6 BRING A FEW TAKE A LOT BOOK EXCHANGE Back by popular demand, our spring book exchange is on again Sunday, April 29 th. Bring your books on Sunday morning in bags or boxes (please, Fo spend a few minutes viewing the books for exchange. The church library has received many fine donations over the past year. Thank you! Some of can be traded. Also, the church library sometimes has to weed out old books, to make room for the many wonderful new books. (Toughest part of being Librarian books to part with). ~Collin Carbno deciding which SPRING CLEANING the bottle return fund are looking for donations of bottles and cans to reduce debt for the church. Donations gratefully accepted in the east foyer barrel. Many people think that Easter is just one day. But how could only one day be sufficient to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead! During this time readings from the Old Testament are set aside and instead we hear readings from the Book of Acts, which is the story of the early church, as the first Christians worked out what it meant to live as followers of the risen Jesus. During this time we continue to sing lots of our favorite Easter hymns, celebrating the resurrection. I wish to thank every person who prayed for my niece Megan Fonstad and her family from the diagnosis of her cancer to the time of her passing. 8 Learning for Life - New Sessions Meet Your Non-Profits! Located in the Library, facilitated by Jennifer Bisson, Laurie McPherson and Laureen Snook basic needs. Whether homeless, working poor, women fleeing domestic violence, or youth in crisis, they face issues of poverty, homelessness, abuse, mental health challenges, and addictions. Regina's non-profit organizations are committed to helping our community's most vulnerable. This Learning for Life session will be a unique opportunity to meet some of the people doing great work in our city, to catch a glimpse of life in Regina through their eyes, and to learn how their organization brings help and hope. 9 TITANIC NEWS!!! Wayne MacDonald, expert in all things Titanic and son of the late Ron MacDonald, will portray Captain Smith as we follow the final hours of a family travelling in third class aboard this doomed ship. Wayne Mac Donald, dressed as Captain Smith This fundraising event will mark the 100 th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic on April 14/15, This event will be held at First Baptist Church on Friday, April 20 th, at 7:00 p.m.. Proceeds from this event will be put towards the purchase of a new video camera for the Audio-Visual Ministry. A valuable print, signed by the youngest surviving passenger of the Titanic will be auctioned during this event.
