Proposed Constitution Change: C11.01 The officers of this congregation shall be a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. a. Duties of the officers shall be specified in the bylaws. b. The officers shall be voting members of the congregation. c. Officers of this congregation shall serve similar offices of the Congregation Council The pastor will be a member and the spiritual leader of the congreation and the Congregation Council but may not be an office holder. The Congregational Council shall elect the officers of the congregation who shall serve for one year or until their successors are elected at its February meeting. Their terms shall begin at the February meeting and end the following February meeting of the Congregation Council. Proposed Bylaw Additions: Section IV Church Employees Item 1: All paid positions of the Church and its affiliates may be held by members of the Church with the exception of the Church Secretary s position. Due to the sensitivity of this position the Church Secretary is required to be a non-member of the Church. Item 2: A member or non-member may only hold one paid position within the Church and its affiliates at any give time.

6 Epiphany Epiphany, or the 12th day of Christmas, falls on January 7 and marks the official end to the festive season for many Christians. The ancient Christian feast day is significant as a celebration of the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist, as well as a more general celebration of his birth. The six Sundays which follow Epiphany are known as the time of manifestation. The Twelfth Night (Epiphany) also marks a visit to the baby Jesus by three Kings, or Wise Men. The word 'Epiphany' comes from Greek and means to show, referring to Jesus being revealed to the world. In the West, Christians began celebrating the Epiphany in the 4th century, associating it with the visit of the Wise Men to Jesus. According to the Gospel of Matthew, the men found Jesus by following a star across the desert to Bethlehem. The three men - named Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar - followed the star of Bethlehem to meet the baby Jesus. According to Matthew 2:11, they offered symbolic gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The gifts were symbolic of the importance of Jesus' birth, the gold representing his royal standing; frankincense his divine birth; and myrrh his mortality. During the medieval period, Christmas was celebrated for the 12 days from Christmas Eve on December 24, until the Epiphany. Even up until the 19th COME JOIN US FOR WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
