3 DORCAS Oct. 2, 2017 The 3 J s of Dorcas Janet, Judy & June tied a colorful quilt with blue, green and yellow rectangular stripes with a deep blue backing and tied with a lighter blue thread. The quilt was fashioned by Janet Vargo. After the quilt was tied Judy pinned the edges and she will finish the quilt. June read the devotions asking us to be strong and of a good courage. We enjoyed tea and cookies. A beautiful lap rode was given to Ken Brandes. At the Oct. 16th meeting Judy, Dot H. Arlene & June decided not to meet during November. Janet has gone to Florida for the winter. Arlene will be on vacation before the Sauerkraut dinner = all will be helping with the dinner and then all will be enjoying Thanksgiving with family. Our next meeting will be December 4th, 2017 we have a quilt to tie and decide on quilts to be give away. Dorcas will resume in April No meetings in Jan., Feb., and March. If you need a quilt contact June or Judy. Judy read a tale about Jesus, Satan & a computer. It was posted on the bulletin board in the hallway if you care to read it. 4 LADIES AID Our Oct. 16,2017 Ladies Aid meeting was called to order by Pres. Diane Vossler, with 11 members present. Betty Wood led us in a devotion and prayer. The minutes to the Sept. meeting were read and accepted, and the secretary also read two Thank you notes for our donation to the Hart House landscaping project. The treasurer gave her report and it was also voted on and accepted. We discussed updating our prayer chain calling list, as some of our members are no longer available to make calls. We were reminded of Marty's Party on October 27 and were asked to wear red clothing if possible. The Samaritan Purse shoe boxes will be packed on November 19. If you are able, please help with the packing. There will be no November meeting, as we are all asked to help with the Sauerkraut Dinner on Election Day, Nov. 7th. We also need help cutting the bread for the stuffing on Monday evening Nov.6th. Our December 4th meeting will be for packing the cookie baskets for the shut-ins, and also to bring toys, hats, & mittens for Salvation Army to distribute to needy children on Christmas. It was suggested we start having bi-monthly meetings starting next April, with meetings to follow in June, August, October, and December. This seemed agreeable by all. A big discussion then took place about whether to continue charging per-person for funeral Luncheon meals, or to just ask for a donation in hopes of covering the cost of the food. We decided not to distribute menus with prices on them anymore, but no real decision was made, as to how we were to pay for the food needed. Arlene Leave talked about a donation to Hart House in the form of purchasing a brick for a $100. donation, and having it engraved with " HE LIVES", from Trinity Lutheran Church. We closed with the Lord's Prayer. Cider and donuts were then served by Brenda Kruger, which were enjoyed by all. Respectfully submitted, 4 Barbara Delity, sec.

As he entered a village, ten lepers approached him. Keeping their distance, they called out, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were made clean. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice. He prostrated himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus asked, "Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they? Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" Then he said to him, "Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well." 5 from to distribute for free with this notice words in a straight line in all directions
