The majority of the meetings will be held on Saturday. GK bowers will be unable to attend. The state KofC organization strongly recommends attendance by the Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight, Financial Secretary and Membership Director. -Our council hosted a very successful major degree ceremony on Saturday, November 7 th. About 50 First Degree members, including 9 from our council received their 2 nd and 3 rd degrees. Thanks to all those who helped with the event, especially Tim Mosholder, Keith Lowry, Ed Belen and Carlo Turchiano. -Our Tuff sheds have been delivered and installed and look great. Thanks to all those who helped with the installation with special thanks to Bernie Kuta. -Rich read a letter from Supreme Knight Carl Anderson addressed to Edward martin, the national chairman of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. This letter addresses Pope Francis call for a new alliance between the Church and family discussed during the world meeting of Families. Thus, the Knights of Columbus is embarking on a new mission: Building the Domestic Church While Strengthening Our Parish. As part of this mission, Mr. Anderson is asking councils to phase out programs for young people that may duplicate or compete with parish activities. He recommends that councils and assemblies who do not currently sponsor Squires Circles NOT institute new circles and those councils with existing circles try to more closely integrate the activity of their Squires into the youth ministry goals of the parish.

3 Also, the Supreme Knights Board of Directors have adopted a policy which will require councils to discontinue direct sponsorship of Boy Scout troops and instead provide financial and volunteer support to troops or other youth activities that are sponsored by parishes. Per John Wheeler: the Columbia Magazine had an article from Supreme Knight Carl Anderson detailing the above decision. -The minutes of preceding meeting were: Approved as published. 4 Mr. Allen discussed how he has set up a PayPal account (through our local Bank of the West). This will allow participants in our fundraisers to buy tickets or items through this account. The account has been set-up as approved by our council and is active. (Bruce will be absent from our next (January) business meeting due to a scheduled knee replacement. He asked for any volunteers to give his report in his absence.) Financial Secretary s Report - (Ed Belen) Ed has bought more Rosaries which may be found in the Knight s closet. He also bought additional stock membership cards. Our council is now in compliance with our state s insurance requirements. Committee Reports Committee Chair Tim Mosholder Deacon Ed: discussed how a recent article in the Catholic Herald mentioned how St. Mark is providing food baskets and a Giving Tree in our Narthex. 297 gifts will be provided to special op groups and Strykers at Ft. Carson. Our parish outreach group will need help on October 16 th at 6 pm loading these gifts into a trailer to transport bags of gifts. He hopes that some Knights will be present with logoed Kof C shirts for a photo op to submit another article with pictures to the Herald. Gifts listed on the Giving Tree are due this weekend. Membership: (Keith Lowry): Our only standing application for First Degree is currently Decker Lazzeri (son of Brother Knight Dan) who was approved unanimously two months ago. (Per Ed Belen): Ed proposed a new 4 th Degree Knight transfer from Cabrini- Joseph Dempsey who attended our last planning meeting. Joseph was voted into our council unanimously.

7 Church/Family (John Park-excused)-Bernie Kuta) December 22 nd is our all-day date to decorate our church inside and out. Participating members will need to sign a waiver of liability, per our archdiocese. December 19 th is our scheduled annual Christmas Party at Sacred Heart Retreat House in Sedalia. Bernie still needs 1-2 folks to make potatoes /sweet potatoes as well as one family to cook a turkey. Santa Anchunde will be present and he asks for each child to bring can goods or nonperishable food items to exchange for a gift. Bernie still is looking for someone to coordinate the whole event. Celebration of Mass at will happen at 5:00 PM followed by potluck dinner. For the dinner, turkeys and ham have already been arranged. For the rest of the meal here is the simple what to bring: Side dishes if you last name begins with A M; N - Z please bring desserts. -On December 24 th - Father Frank needs help setting up the downstairs for Christmas Eve Masses. Scheduled Mass times: 4 pm, 4:30 pm (downstairs), 8 pm, and midnight. Parking help from Knights is also needed. Bernie will be setting up luminaries with parish youth prior to the 4 evening Masses. Bernie also discussed the Christmas tree hunt which took place on Saturday, Dec. 5 th. Three Knights, Dave Barnett, Robert Wilson and Bernie as well as 3 parish families participated, bringing back 10 extra trees for our parish. Youth (Steve Myer) (not present) no report. KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS SALES/Council Director (John Park excused)-eric Obergfell: discussed how the Advent calendars turned out well and about $70 was collected. Eric thanked folks for helping after Mass as well as for help with the last pancake breakfast. Our next pancake breakfast will be held on January 17 t. Community: Mark Smith: Mark thanked all those Knights who helped out at the Highlands Ranch Metro/ Highlands Ranch Mansion event on December 5 th. This year s Tootsie Roll Campaign collected $2,125! Standing Committee/The Formal: John Park (excused)-keith Lowry This year s Gala/Formal will be held at the Marriot Hotel in the Denver Tech Center. The committee is still looking for ideas for auction items; specifically, live auction items. Keith reports there is still plenty of space available for guests. He requests we please register ASAP and he passed out registration forms. Interested Knights can fill out these forms with a check or pay electronically through PayPal (there is a $5 transaction fee electronically) Tables can handle up to 10 people. The committee would prefer one check to reserve a table of 10 participants. Bernie Kuta is donating a pool table; Tim Mosholder is providing a photo booth with complimentary photos! Keith Lowry mentioned that the paddle raiser part of the Gala proceeds will go to help support identified needs of the Pueblo Archdiocese. There will be a DJ as well as dancing. Keith also suggested we start organizing tables for the event (inviting people per table). Pro-life: (Chet Elder): no report this meeting Unfinished Business: the two new storage sheds are mostly constructed thanks mainly to Bernie Kuta, Carlo Turchiano and Kurt Bradley. --Resurfacing the lower level floors of our church-(quote of $1225) tabled again due to other council financial priorities.

8 NEW BUSINESS: (Deacon Ed): Deacon Ed made a motion for our council to provide $250 to support additional gifts for military children through the MOM industry (Military Outreach Ministry). This proposal was seconded and then amended to $500 by PGK Bernie Kuta. A motion was then made by Carlo Turchiano to suspend the bylaw ruling that $250 be the limit without Council approval. This motion was seconded and voted on unanimously. The amended motion to provide $500 to St. Mark Catholic Church/Military Outreach Ministry (MOM) was voted in unanimously. Terry Sandrock: discussed that there are billets available for Habitat for Humanity at two long term projects-one at Pennsylvania and 48 th (3 year program) as well as one at Lakewood and Colfax. He will send out future s to keep us informed and to solicit further interest. 4th Degree Report: (Dave Barnett): Faithful Navigator Dave asked that all 4 th degree knights remember to attend the next meeting on January 4th at 8 pm, following our next planning meeting. A Rosary will be prayed before this meeting as in the past. The meeting last month was not held as we did not have a quorum of 4 th Degree Knights. Field Agent s Report: (Trent Davis): Not present, but per GK Bowers, we have attained our insurance quota for the Fraternal year (also with Jayme Sanford s help prior to Trent taking over as our field agent).
