8 2018 September Message - For the month of September 2018 GOD is talking to us from Esther chapter 3 verse 4. I will not bow down to this man for I am a Jew. For the month of September GOD is talking to us about how we as GOD s chosen children need to have a relationship with GOD inorder for us and our families to always remain safe and protected from any harm that satan is trying to bring into our lives. We are GOD s chosen people just like how the Israelites (Jews) were GOD s chosen children. GOD is talking to us about two people and how they escaped the trap that satan had planted for them. The references for this message are from Esther chapter 3, 4, 5 and from Daniel chapter 6. The first people that GOD is talking to us is about Esther and Mordecai. If you read the bible, you can understand that Esther and Mordecai were Jews who were brought into the kingdom of Xerxes as slaves. Even though they were slaves, they were GOD s chosen children and because of that they had GOD s grace with them at all times. Also due to all the hardship of living as a slave they always had a regular prayer life which helped them find favour in the eyes of the authorities and also finally by GOD s grace, we can read that Esther becomes the queen and Mordecai is elevated to a position where he is given a job inside the king s palace. But after they received their blessing, we cannot read anywhere in the bible that both Esther and Mordecai had a proper prayer life or a proper relationship with GOD. After achieving their goal, they slowly started living a lazy and comfortable life and slowly their relationship with GOD started getting worse day by day. Mordecai thought that the same grace that helped Esther to become the queen and Mordecai to get a job within the palace would help him stand against Haman. 9 relationship with GOD that the grace was going down day and day and slowly satan was able to get closer to him and take away all his blessings. Satan planted Haman in the palace and from day one there was always an enemity between Mordecai and Haman. Mordecai always opposed Haman because he assumed that GOD was always there with him and that GOD would never leave him but he did not realize that because he was not having a proper prayer life and because he did not have a proper relationship with GOD that GOD had allowed satan to come against him and create this problem to him. His spiritual eyes were closed and he was trying to fight satan with the old spiritual strength and his fleshly strength that he had. But in reality he did not realize that he was away from GOD. Even satan was able to proceed further and understand who Mordecai was and satan comes up with a plan to not only kill Mordecai but to kill all the Jews in that kingdom. In Esther chapter4 verse 1 we can read that Mordecai s spiritual eyes were opened only when he read the order that the king had passed for the execution of all the Jews and we can also read that at that moment, Mordecai tore his clothes and ran into the city wailing and crying throwing ashes on him. He was filled with anguish because he knew that he was in a very dangerous situation. Till that moment he did not care and he was always counting on his strength and his old relationship with GOD. Even Esther was living a very comfortable life and initially when Mordecai told her to go and talk to the king, she just replied back to him with a lame excuse that she was not supposed to meet the king. Only when Mordecai told her about that satan was going to kill her and her family if she stayed quiet that her eyes opened and she and Mordecai decided to go back to GOD. They knew that the only way they could escape such a big danger was to Fast and Pray. A normal prayer would never get them through such a dangerous situation. And they decide to Fast and Pray day and night for three full days. It was not an easy thing to do. They had to completely give up the easy life that they were living and forget all the luxuries and the nice food and for three days both Day and Night they had to remain in GOD s presence in fasting and prayer. At the end we all know that GOD heard their Fasting and Prayer and not only did GOD deliver them from the enemy but GOD also destroyed the enemy than came up against them. Even Daniel was GOD s chosen person and because of GOD s grace on him he was also appointed in the King s palace to work under the king as one of the wise men in the kingdom. The biggest difference between Daniel s spiritual life and Esther s and Mordecai s spiritual life was that Daniel was a person who prayed to GOD three times a day no matter what happened to him. Whether it was a good day or a bad day he did not care but three times a day he went to GOD s presence and prayed to GOD and maintained a proper relationship with GOD unlike Esther and Mordecai who started living an easy and comfortable life after they received GOD s blessing. If you read the whole book of Daniel, we can see that there were somany instances where people came up against Daniel to stop his prayer and also to put an end to his life but Daniel did not care about anything and nowhere in the bible we can read that Daniel tore his clothes and cried to GOD or did any special fasting like how Esther and Mordecai did. All that Daniel did was he had a regular and proper prayer life and a proper relationship with GOD and because of that whoever came up against Daniel were automatically destroyed by GOD. He did not have to do anything special or extra to get GOD s favour. Even in Daniel case, we can see the situation where Daniel was thrown into the lion s den even though the king was not willing to throw Daniel into the lion s den. Satan took him to a situation where everything looked like it was over for Daniel but satan did not realize that GOD was always there with Daniel because of Daniel s prayer life. Even Daniel did not care or worry and do any special fasting to save himself. He was confident that GOD would never forsake him. If you read Daniel chapter 6 verse 20 we can see that even the king himself asks Daniel if his GOD who he served continually was able to protect him and Daniel replies back to the king that the same GOD to whom he prayed continually was able to protect him from the lions. Even in Daniel s case we can read that GOD not only protected Daniel but in the end GOD also destroyed the satan that came against Daniel.
