He is the Vicar of Christ on earth, the 265th Successor of St. Peter, the Head of the Episcopal College and the Supreme Shepherd of the Universal Church. On this day let us all pray in a special way for our Holy Father th Anniversary - Archbishop S. Michael Augustine On March 29 th 2016 our beloved Archbishop Emeritus S. Michael Augustine is having the 38 th anniversary of his Episcopal Consecration. On this happy occasion we offer our hearty felicitations to His Grace and wish him Ad Multos Annos! Mass Offerings With effect from 1 st April 2016 the mass offerings within the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Pondicherry-Cuddalore will be: Rs. 70 for ordinary mass (raised from Rs. 50), Rs. 100 for sung (high) mass (raised from Rs. 70). 5. CBCI General Body Meeting The 32 nd General Body Meeting of the CBCI will be held at St. John s Medical College Campus, Bangalore from 2 nd to 9 th. Rally cum Meeting The CBCI SC/ST commission is organizing a Rally cum Meeting in New Delhi on Thursday, 10 th to demand constitutionally SC status for the Dalit Christians. Through our Archdiocesan ST/ST commission we have made arrangements that good number of participants from our Archdiocese take part in this rally cum meeting. Lenten Preaching Parish Priests are earnestly requested, with the help of the Pastoral Centre and that of the neighbouring Parish Priests, to arrange for Lenten preaching and for confessional facilities for the faithful. From this financial year our Archdiocese s name will be deleted from the list of defaulters. The office of the Procurator will go to those places where it is delayed and set right the papers to be submitted to the Nuncio and the Government on time. Kindly encourage the young people, even those who approach you for rectification of their marriage to attend the marriage preparation courses very seriously. It is not sufficient enough that they attend only 12 classes as preparatory course, the pastors need to have personal attention on his parishioners who are to marry in the near future. 2. Please give special attention to the young couples; if they have the problem between them, encourage them to go for counseling and get settle their issues very quickly without much delay. When you send a petitioner to our tribunal, you must have already tried for a reconciliation and peace meeting with family members or elders of the village. If the marriage is ratified and consummated, it is a valid, sacramental and full consented marriage for our catholic church. The concentration was fully focused on communicating skill, so the students were taught simple English grammar and divided into groups and trained. They were very much enthusiastic in the second programme. Let us continue to encourage and guide our children to have good education. Parents Meet: We also called the parents of these students for a day meet. The purpose is to make an observation on their side. SC/ST what is the aim and purpose of this students programme? How are they trained? Is it worth sending the students for the forthcoming programmes? The parents came and saw the things taken place. They were impressed and all of them appreciated for the efforts taken by the Sc/St commission to offer such an opportunity to their children. The programme ended with the refreshment of high tea. Panchayath Leaders Meet: The commission every now and then calls for a meet of Panchayath leaders from our Dalith Christians and encourages them to do better service to our people. On 21st February we had a meeting for the Panchayath leaders. 45 leaders from all walks (Counsellors, Presidents, vice Presidents, Ward Members and some former leaders) in the panchayath participated. They shared about their wonderful achievements during their leadership and also poured out all their bitter experiences as Dalith leaders in the society. They were appreciated and encouraged for their valuable services and contributions to the society as leaders. They were given awareness about the forthcoming assembly as well as the panchayath elections. We thank wholeheartedly Fr. P. A. Aruldass, Director SAMSSS for the place.
