2 Literal English Translation Proverbs 1:8-9:18 The Proverbs of Solomon: Wisdom Speeches Proverbs 10:1-24:34 The Proverbs of Solomon: Wisdom Sayings Proverbs 12 The Instruction Concerning Discipline Proverbs 12:1-14 With Regard to Character (1) The one loving discipline is loving knowledge, but the one hating correction is foolish. (2) A good person will obtain favor from Yahweh, but a man of evil plans He will condemn. (3) A person will not be established in wickedness, but the root of righteous people will not be moved. (4) A woman of strong character is a crown of her lord, but the one who is causing shame is like rottenness in his bones. (5) The plans of righteous people are justice; the counsels of wicked people are deceit. (6) The words of wicked people are ambushing for blood, but the mouth of upright people will deliver them.
3 Literal English Translation (7) Wicked people are being overthrown and they are not; but the house of righteous people will stand. (8) A man will be praised according to the words of his understanding, but the one of a twisted heart he will be despised. (9) Better is one being dishonored, and has a slave, than one honoring himself and have lack of food. (10) A righteous person is knowing the life of his livestock, but the compassions of wicked people are cruel. (11) The one working his land will be satisfied with food, but the one pursuing fantasies is lacking of heart. (12) A wicked man has desired A net of evils, but the root of righteous people will produce fruit. (13) In the transgression of his lips is the trap of an evil person, but a righteous person will come out from distress. (14) A man will be satisfied with good from the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of a man s hands will return to him.
