2 Literal English Translation Proverbs 1:8-9:18 The Proverbs of Solomon: Wisdom Speeches Proverbs 2:1-22 The Instruction Concerning the Protection by Wisdom: The Second Speech Proverbs 2:1-11 The Preservation by Wisdom Proverbs 2:1-4 The Conditions for Wisdom (1) My son, if you will accept My speeches, and will store up My commandments with you, (2) so that your ear pays attention to wisdom, so that you will turn your heart to understanding. (3) Because if you will call out for understanding, if you will give your voice for understanding; (4) if you will seek her like silver, and you will search for her like hidden treasures, Proverbs 2:5-8 The First Compensation of Wisdom (5) then you will understand the fear of Yahweh and you will find the knowledge of God. (6) Because Yahweh will give wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. (7) And He has stored up sound wisdom for the upright people; He is a shield to the ones walking in integrity,
3 Literal English Translation (8) to preserve the paths of justice, and He will guard the ways of His godly ones. Proverbs 2:9-11 The Second Compensation of Wisdom (9) Then you will understand righteousness and justice and uprightness; even, every path of good. (10) Because wisdom will enter in your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul, (11) discretion will guard you, understanding will preserve you; Proverbs 2:12-22 The Protection by Wisdom Proverbs 2:12-15 The Conduct of the Evil Man (12) to rescue you from the evil way, from the man speaking perverse things; (13) the ones abandoning the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, (14) The ones who are rejoicing to do evil; they will take pleasure in the perversities of evil, (15) whose paths of them are crooked and the ones turning aside in their paths,
4 Literal English Translation Proverbs 2:16-19 The Conduct of the Evil Woman (16) To rescue you from the strange woman, from the foreign woman who has made her speeches smooth, (17) the one abandoning the companion of her youth, and forgetting the covenant of her God. (18) Because she will sink down to death, her house and her paths to departed spirits. (19) All of the ones going in to her will not return, and they do not reach the paths of life. Proverbs 2:20-22 The Conclusion of the Upright and the Wicked (20) So that you will walk in the ways of the good people, and you will guard the paths of the righteous people. (21) Because the upright people will dwell in the land, and the blameless will remain in it; (22) but the wicked people will have been cut off from the land, and the ones acting deceitfully will be torn out from it.
