All: Truly God has listened and given heed to the words of my prayer. One: You are blessed, O God, because you have not rejected my prayer, or removed your steadfast love from me. All: I will come into your house and pay you my vows, those that my lips uttered and my mouth promised when I was in trouble. All: We believe and confess one single catholic or universal church a holy congregation and gathering of true Christian believers. One: What binds them all together? All: They await their entire salvation in Jesus Christ, are washed by his blood, and sanctified and sealed by the Holy Spirit. One: How big is this church? All: This holy church is not confined, bound, or limited to a certain place or certain persons. But it is spread and dispersed throughout the entire world, though still joined and united in heart and will, in the one and the same Spirit, by the power of faith. 4 SENTENCES OF SCRIPTURE One: As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. All: There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. One: Lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. All: There is one body and one Spirit, just as we were called to the one hope of our calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. CALL TO DISCIPLESHIP One: We are called by God to be the church of Jesus Christ, a sign in the world today of what God intends for all humankind. All: The great ends of the church are the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind; the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God; the maintenance of divine worship; the preservation of the truth; the promotion of social righteousness; and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world (To Team Members) One: Who is your Lord and Savior? Team: Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. One: Will you be Christ s faithful disciple, obeying his Word and showing his love? Team: I will, with God s help. One: Do you welcome the responsibility of this service because you are determined to follow the Lord Jesus, to love neighbors, and to work for the reconciling of the world? Team: I do. One: Will you serve the people with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love, relying on God s mercy and rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit? Team: I will, with God s help. COMMISSIONING PRAYER One: Faithful God, in baptism you claimed us Establish them in your truth, and guide them by your Holy Spirit that in your service they may grow in faith, hope, and love, and be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and forever. All: Almighty God, in Jesus Christ you called disciples and, by the Holy Spirit, made them one church to serve you. Let your Spirit rule your church, so that we may be joined in love and service to Jesus Christ, who, having gone before us, is coming to meet us in the promise of your kingdom. Amen.

We are giving our nursery workers the day away to enjoy a well-deserved weekend off. Please pass the word along to fellow FPC families or visitors. As always, children are welcome in worship - the nursery will be closed, but please don't let that hold you back from bringing your children to church! Thanks for your understanding! FPC OFFICE CLOSED MEMORIAL DAY The FPC office will be closed Monday, May 29 th in observance of Memorial Day. Have a safe and happy holiday! ICE CREAM SOCIAL: JUNE 4 The calendar may not say summer until June 21, but with the end of school, it's clear that the lazy, hazy season has begun. That means it's time to gather for our annual FPC Ice Cream Social, Sunday, June 4, at 7 p.m. in the courtyard. The evening will be filled with foot-races, corn-hole games, egg tosses, fellowship, lots of laughter, and, of course, ice cream and toppings! Join us! PROJECT SALINA CHALLENGE! Our friendly competitors at Sunrise PC reported this week that they have collected nearly 1,400 cans of tuna as part of the Project Salina food drive. Here at FPC, we've collected about 250 cans. We've got two weeks left. How much tuna can we gather? Will you help?

6 SUMMER SOUL-STICE BEGINS JUNE 6 Do Justice... Love Mercy... Are You Kidding?! Our sixth Summer Soul-stice series begins June 6, with this year s focus on the separateness and polarization we seem to be facing these days, individually to worldwide. How do we learn to listen to and talk with each other, and to love one another even in our differences? Come hear the ideas of an artist, psychologist, theologian, and community activists committed to programs of restorative justice and get involved in some thoughtful discussions. Dates are June 6 at the Salina Art Center Warehouse, and June 20, July 11, July 25, and August 8 at First Presbyterian Church in the Chapel. Also NOTE TIME DIFFERENCES: June 6 and 20 at 9:30 AM; July 11, 25, and August 8 at 12 noon. Look for more complete information in the May and June newsletters. We hope that you'll have your child(ren) participate! MISSION: ENVELOPE PART 2 Don t forget to GRAB AN ENVELOPE TO SUPPORT YOUTH MISSON! On the very large bulletin board by the elevator, there are 100 envelopes! Choose an envelope or 2 or 3!! Pull it off the board, take the fillings out, fill out your address card and place it and your donation (the amount on the envelope(s)) into the envelope. Return the envelope to either an offering plate or the church office! All Donations go to Youth Summer Mission Trip and Youth Mission! ADULT EDUCATION CLASS: SEEKING ALLAH FINDING JESUS Please join the Adult Education Committee for classes after worship at 11 a.m. in the Conference Room. There are 4 more sessions titled The Case for the Gospel, The Truth about Muhammad, The Holiness of the Quran, and Reaching your Muslim Neighbor. We watch a short video for the first 15 minutes and then discuss the topic. It is not necessary to read the book first or buy the book, but it adds to the level of your understanding. The class will not meet Memorial Day weekend or River Festival Sunday and will end on June 25. A study guide is available in the office for $10.

8 ITEMS NEEDED FOR GUATEMALA MINISTRY DONATION Adult Multivitamins (non-gender/non-generation specific) Children's Chewable Multivitamins (not gummy-type) Vaseline, 1.75oz Blood Pressure Cuff (new or used) Skill Saw (any brand) with a variety of blades for wood, metal rebar, and concrete blocks. 4-Medium Hammers (framer's hammers are too large for most Guatemalans) 3ft Level Compost Thermometer (approx. $28) Handheld concrete vibrator - 1HP (3ft x 1in or less stem, approx. $100-$150) Or funds to specifically support the purchase of any of these items - Thank You! FOR YOUR INFORMATION: FPC s Nursery, located on the second floor, is available for infants and children ages 5 and younger. FPC encourages children ages 6 and older to remain in worship. Worship bags for children of all ages are located in the lobby. When you are finished with the bag, please put it in the basket so that it can be replenished and straightened. Pew Art cards are also available in the pew racks. FBI (Faithful Bible Investigators) is our Christian Education program for children in grades K-5. FBI-In-Training is our Christian Education program for children age 2 through Pre-K. HeBrews is our Senior-High Youth Bible Study that meets every Thursday during the school year at 6:45 am at Moka s on Crawford. The name is derived from Hebrews 10:25. CIA (Christians In Action) is our Mid-High (6 th -8 th grades) Youth Group that meets Sunday mornings after worship. They study the Bible in a way that allows them to use energy and creativity to learn God s word. SWAT (Senior-high Worshipping All the Time) is our Senior-High (9 th -12 th grades) Youth Group that meets Sunday mornings after worship. This group focuses on mission and fellowship during this time. Adult Education Class meets every Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Hope Room. Extra hymnals, including large print, and Bibles are available in the back of the sanctuary. The sanctuary is equipped with a Hearing Loop. Please switch your hearing aid to t-coil to use. Please see your audiologist to activate your t-coil if you haven t done so yet. Headsets are also available. An usher will be happy to help if you need assistance. CONGREGATIONAL CARE: Tan Prayer Request Cards are for prayer requests or concerns. These go to the Board of Deacons. Blue We Care Cards are for messages of care to persons of the congregation; these cards are mailed the next week. Cards are available in the back of the room. Please place the cards in the offering plate. Your Prayer Concerns can now be submitted online. Please visit and they will be forwarded to a pastor.
