1 Welcome to Farringdon Church Thank you for being with us today. Everything you need for the service can be found in this booklet and in the red Worship & Rejoice hymn book. Our service is typically just over an hour. If you are looking for a spiritual home, we have a variety of services and programs to meet your needs. Please introduce yourself to the morning greeters or the hosts at coffee time in Narthex (front lobby) or Rev. Mike Rattee after the service to learn more about what this church has to offer. Washrooms are located on the lower level, either a barrier-free washroom below the Narthex, accessible via the elevator or stairs, or in the Christian Education wing - just ask one of the greeters for directions. Children`s programming during Fall, Winter and Spring occurs each week, with the children coming forward during the 2nd Hymn for a Children`s Time then on to Sunday School. Nursery age children are cared for the entire service, however, if your child would like to remain with you for the service that`s great too. Ask about our three, free mid-week young Christians nights. The Offering plate at Farringdon is a responsibility of members and adherents. You are welcome to make a financial contribution to support our ministries, however, if you are visiting us for the first time, we don't expect you to make a financial gift - we'd rather ask you to pay attention to God's blessings in your life, return next week, and make your gift then. Today, you are welcome to share in Chancel Communion, immediately following the greeting at the door and social time in the Narthex. All Christians are welcome. The service is brief and held at the altar. Please join us for refreshments after the service in the Narthex. Just follow the crowd and join in as a welcome child of God. 6 Can you believe it? There are 100 days until Christmas! This year we are putting on an amazing Christmas pageant! To make this a huge success any children and youth who would like to participate will begin practicing Tuesday September 25 from 5:30-6pm. Please sign up in the Narthex. Message from Farringdon Deacons Farringdon needs a bit of your time and dedication! Anyone wishing to join the Board of Deacons, please contact Greg Holyomes, Chair of or Dave Kennedy, Vice Volunteer with us! Katelyn is still looking for a consistent volunteer to help the third Tuesday of each month. With our ever-growing children s program extra adult supervision is becoming a necessity. Please connect with her to volunteer. Farringdon Ladies Breakfast is having its first meeting of the Fall at the Best Western on Saturday, Oct. 13th at 9 a.m. Bring a friend! New ladies always welcome. Please remember a Donation of Food for the local FOOD BANK. Looking forward to seeing as many ladies as possible to reconnect after the summer. 7 Farringdon Christmas Bazaar 2018 This year s Farringdon Christmas Bazaar will be in Saturday, November 17 th and we need your help to make it the success it has been in recent years! Farringdon Volunteers needed! Please contact any of the Deacons soon to offer your help. Also, you are encouraged to look in your attics, garages and closets for new or nearly new items that we can Farringdon Next Week sell including Christmas things. Closer to the time of the sale they can be brought to the church. Thank you for helping in the wonderful fellowship with the church members and the community... 8 Small Group Bible Studies at Farringdon Started on Tuesday Sept. 18th (10 a.m. and 6 p.m.) Our new study is Christian Community focusing on how we can grow closer & stronger at Farringdon. These are Open to all adults (co-ed), regardless of your Bible knowledge. Join us each Tuesday in the Board Room by the offices. Also: A Sunday morning prayer group begins today, Sunday Sept. 23rd at 9:30 10:00 a.m. in the Board Room. Together we will pray through several prayers in the Bible as well as pray for the service, our city, and each other. All teens and adults are welcome. 48th Brant Scouting would like to thank the congregation of Farringdon Independent Church for sponsoring our Scouting Group and sharing your home with us. We have now started our meetings on Wednesday evenings. All youth are welcome! If you are not on the internet at home, there are a few hard copies available in the Narthex or a copy can be printed and available for pick up at the church office.
