3 WORSHIP AT FAITH This morning we re continuing our Who is He? series with a couple of passages from the Gospel of Matthew that show us Jesus the King. Surprisingly, Jesus both recognizes and limits the power of earthly kingdoms. Mercifully, Jesus comes to bring us into the Kingdom of God. This evening our Journey of Faith series continues with Romans 4:1-25. This chapter shows us the credit that God gives to all His people, beginning with Abraham. John De Vries had a number of tests this week and has some upcoming appointments with cardiac surgeons to prepare for an aortic core valve procedure. Hopefully this procedure will be scheduled soon. About six weeks after the procedure, John is hoping to begin chemo treatments for cancer in his bones and liver. John is currently struggling with swelling in his legs, and recently fell down the stairs also. Pray for improved health for John, for good test results, and for a successful aortic valve procedure. Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Psalm 68:19. Mackenzie Gehrke, four year old daughter of Scott and Jean Gehrke, returned home Wednesday after having successful surgery to repair a broken growth plate in her arm on Tuesday. Please continue to pray for a full recovery, a successful follow-up procedure and comfort for Mackenzie in the upcoming weeks. Dick Huisman continues to recover at home from pneumonia. Pray for quick healing for Dick, and also for increased strength and effective treatment as he s undergoing long-term chemo treatments. Cindy Klaassens had a radioactive iodine treatment this past week to deal with any cancer cells remaining after the removal of her thyroid. She ll be getting the results of a follow-up test this Monday. Pray for increased energy, good test results, and clear next steps for Cindy. Remember to pray for those who are unable to join us in worship. Today we think of Lorraine Hodapp who lives in Elmhurst. Happy Birthday to John Evenhouse (80) on April 3, Rich De Boer (94) on April 4 and Stella Van Tholen (91) on April 14.

4 Thanks for all the birthday cards I received on my 100th birthday. It was a joy to receive so many and I enjoyed reading them. God is so good. Elmer Wettour We give thanks to God for His infinite love, mercy and grace as we walk this path regarding Jim's passing. We are also thankful to our family at Faith for the support expressed in the many cards that we received and the personal expressions of sympathy, but especially for the prayers that were offered on our behalf. In addition, we are grateful for the support of Pastors Lanser and Schuringa as we communicated by telephone from Jim's hospital and for Don Oostman's visit in Bloomington, IL. We are very appreciative for Pastor Schuringa's hospital visit with the family and the prayer he offered for us and the prayer he offered specifically for Jim. Rehearsal for instrumentalists will be at 4:00 PM in the Choir Room. This Easter we would like to again display Easter lilies as a symbol of Christ s resurrection power. You can purchase these lilies as a remembrance of your loved ones who are in God s heavenly presence, and then have their names honored in our Easter bulletin. Order forms (envelopes) are available at the narthex sign-up counter. Please fill in the needed information, enclose the payment ($14 each), and deposit the envelope in the Bulletin Announcement Box today! You may take your lilies with you after morning worship on Easter Sunday. Evangelism Committee Feed My Starving Children Event on Tuesday, April 14, from 8:00 till 9:30 PM at the Aurora location. We are seeking 20 volunteers to pack food for children, supporting a very worthy global ministry. Please sign-up on the sheet at the back of the church.

5 Taco Dinner: Join us on April 16, from 5:00 7:00 PM for our annual taco dinner fundraiser. This year we will be raising money for the gathering to go to the Live It Conference. See the poster in the fellowship hall to see how you can help by donating supplies. Night of Worship: Join us for a special mid-week hour of worship led by our worship team musicians on Thursday, April 16, at 7:00 PM. The Faith Book Club has selected Dreams and Visions: Is Jesus Awakening the Muslim World? by Tom Doyle for the book to read for April. As a fulltime missionary in the Middle East, author Tom Doyle has encountered a staggering number of Muslims who have embraced Jesus as their Savior thru dreams and visions. Doyle not only relates these stories, but also addresses the questions: Why would God use dreams to reach the Muslim world? Can dreams be trusted? What happens after these dreams or visions occur? Our next meeting is April 21, at 7:00 PM. Calling all men, young and old! Come join us for Faith s Springtime Men s Breakfast, April 25, at 7:30 AM. We ll dine on a wonderful spread of goodies cooked by Faith's very own Cadet leaders, and also enjoy a presentation by AJS (Association for a more Just Society). AJS is dedicated to answering God's call to act justly by pursuing justice for the most vulnerable in our world. The organization s primary work thus far has been in the Honduras. Come to learn how injustice impacts people's lives and society as a whole, and also to hear how Christians are working for justice around the world. Please use the sign-up sheet found in the Narthex so we know how many people to cook for. A More Just Society: On April 26 after the morning service, the Adult Ministries Committee is hosting a presentation about justice! Come to learn how AJS (Association for a more Just Society) is impacting the lives of the most vulnerable in Honduras by being an advocate for justice. Please join us to hear how injustice impacts people's daily lives and an entire nation. Faith Flower Extravaganza!
