3 WORSHIP AT FAITH This morning we welcome Dr. David Schuringa to our pulpit. Pastor Greg s father leads Crossroad Bible Institute. Faith partners with CBI, whose goal is to share God s love with people in prison and equip God s people behind bars to live for Him. PRAYER & PRAISE After the morning service, if you have prayer needs, please visit room 1 on the north side of the sanctuary. Pete Boonstra s recent test results indicate that his cancer has spread to his lungs. He began treatments last week, and will have at least a full year of treatment. Keep Pete and the whole Boonstra family in your prayers. Judy Rispens continues to undergo rehab at Providence. She hopes to return home mid-november. Gert Tazelaar (Mrs. Ray) is having hip replacement surgery at Elmhurst Hospital on Monday. Remember to pray for those who are unable to join us in worship. Today we think of Lucille Miedema who lives in Lexington Square in Lombard. Pastor Greg is finishing the final two week portion of his six week sabbatical for 2014 today. He will be back to his usual schedule and activities starting tomorrow. We would like to thank everyone for the 100 th birthday greetings and visits for Ruth Beetz, they made her so very happy. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers following Ruth s passing. We would like to thank Pastor Matthew for his visits and calls. We are thankful for all the years God gave us to be with Mom. An Exercise Class taught by Rachel Baron, certified fitness instructor, meets on Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 5:30-6:30 AM, $5.00 per session. Rehearsal for the Men s Chorus for Veteran s Day will be today following morning worship in the Choir Room. Please come to church on Sunday, November 9, at 8:20 AM to rehearse before the service. The Choir for Thanksgiving Day will rehearse on Sunday, November 23, after the morning worship in the Choir room. Choir members should be at church on Thanksgiving Day at 9:00 AM. The Instrumentalists for Thanksgiving Day will rehearse on Sunday, November 23, at 4:00 PM in the Choir room and should be at church at 9:15 AM on Thanksgiving morning. Please prayerfully consider joining these musical groups to enhance our worship with your God-given talents. People of all ages are invited to the Cadet Skating Party sponsored by the Chicago West Cadet Council on November 8, from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Lombard Roller Rink (201 W 22 nd St., Lombard). Cost is $7.00, and skate rental is available for an extra cost. Roller blades are allowed but must pass inspection by the management. GEMS, Cadets & Jr. Cadets wearing their uniform will receive a free soft drink. Spaghetti supper: Join us at the GEMS annual Spaghetti Supper, Thursday, November 13, from 5:00-7:00 PM. Donations will go toward our GEMS Counselor Education Fund. Come for an evening of fellowship and food, and stay, if you like, for the Night of Worship at 7:00 PM. On November 13, at 6:00 PM at Elmhurst CRC, All God s Children will be holding the first ever benefit and fundraiser for the children at Hogar de Niño. There will be a special emphasis on a need we have to fund the education of all the children at the orphanages. We will view a special screening of an extraordinary video which highlights the work of our ministry over the last 25 years. In addition, we will hear testimonials from some of our orphanages alumni. As a special guest, Heather Headley will also perform. We are hoping to reach out to many of our existing sponsors and to introduce the ministry to new friends. A note was placed in your mail box with ideas of what to bring. You will have an opportunity to sign a card and write words of encouragement to our college students on November 16. Parents of college students, please make sure to give the updated info sheet to Kelly. College students will be able to pick up their packages at the Thanksgiving service. Those not picked up will be mailed.

5 The Faith Book Club has chosen The Cross in the Shadow of the Crescent by Erwin Lutzer for the November meeting. In this compelling book, Dr. Lutzer shows that while the spread of Islam in the U.S. is a concern for Christians, this is an opportunity to share the gospel with the Muslim community. We will meet on Tuesday, November 18, at 7:00 PM. Honduras Serve Project 2015: This year there will be two opportunities for Faith CRC to serve at the ministries of All God s Children. The first will be a combined group with Faith Tinley on January 31 - February 7. The second will take place during Holy week, March 27-April 3. Each week will provide wonderful opportunities to serve our Lord and the people of Honduras and the ministries of All God s Children! SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9 Last day to bring in cards for the Send-A-Card ministry through Crossroad Bible Institute. This program provides Christmas cards to men and women in prison who are currently enrolled in CBI's Bible studies. There is a box for the cards on the piano in the Fellowship Hall.
