3 TODAY AT FAITH This morning in the message we continue to explore the person and work of Jesus and His impact on the world, society, and people s lives in our new series, Who is He? We are following the chapters of Who is This Man? by John Ortberg. We ll explore four passages in the gospels that give us insight into how the gospel of Jesus revolutionizes how the world views and treats women. This evening we continue in Romans. Verses of the first chapter contain what many call the summary of the whole book. These verses give a succinct summary of our faith. Under the theme All About the Faith we ll find numerous essentials of the Christian faith packed into these two sentences. PRAYER & PRAISE After the morning service, if you have prayer needs, please visit room 1 on the north side of the sanctuary. Pete Boonstra recently had some tests that showed his tumors are shrinking. Give thanks that his course of treatment is working, and pray for continued good results. Eleanore Gorter was able to return home from the hospital last week, but she continues to struggle with fatigue as she undergoes long-term cancer treatments. Dick Huisman began a nine-month series of chemo treatments last week. Following this series, he ll have another type of chemo for an additional year or so. Pray that these treatments are effective, and also pray for strength and encouragement for Dick, Mary, and the whole Huisman family in this long treatment process. Garry Wieringa is at Providence for rehab. Keep Garry and his family in prayer as the recovery process is moving very slowly. Remember to pray for those who are unable to join us in worship. Today we think of Elmer & Evelyn Wettour who live in Saratoga Grove Retirement Center. Honduras Serve Project: A team from Faith is serving this week at the ministries of All God s Children in Comayagua, Honduras. The members of the group are: Lambert and Judy Bronger, Dirk Glaubke, Ria Hoogsteen, Clarence Klaassens, Bob Loerop, Tim Loerop, Regina Post, Bill Tazelaar, and Candace Wieringa. Please pray that the group s time there is effective, encouraging, and safe. They plan to return this Saturday, February 7. OFFERINGS Today: AM: Cadets International. PM: Cadets. 4 ANNOUNCEMENTS Today we are celebrating Cadet Sunday. The Faith Cadets and Jr. Cadets would like to thank the family of Faith CRC for your prayers and support. Students! As Pastor Greg shared in the 9 th - 12 th grade catechism classes, this year s profession of faith class starts in February. We will meet three Sundays in a row: February 8, 15, and 22 from 4:30 PM 5:30 PM in rooms 4-5. This class is for students interested in making profession of their faith. Please talk to Pastor Greg or your catechism teacher if you have any questions ahead of time. Coins for CareNet Baby Bottles are due on Sunday, February 8, If you have not returned your baby bottle with coins or a check (made payable to CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage), please make sure you return it by next Sunday. The Faith Book Club has selected Before Amen by Max Lucado as the February book to read. Before Amen is written for everyone who wants to pray more, better and stronger, with more fire, faith and fervency. We will meet on Tuesday, February 17, at 7:00 PM. Pick up a copy and join us to discuss. The 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Catechism Class is collecting aluminum cans and old Christmas Tree lights. The money from the cans & lights will be donated to Feed My Starving Children. Please bring your cans & lights to the house in tightly tied bags. TODAY Sunday School meets from 10:45 11:30 AM. There is no singing this month; students should go directly to their classrooms. Catechism meets from 10:45-11:30 AM. The Sermon Discussion Group will meet in Choir room at 11:00 AM. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2 The Executive Committee will meet at 6:30 PM. The Deacons will meet at 6:30 PM. The Elders will meet at 7:00 PM. TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3 Senior Bible Study will meet at 1:15 PM. We ll be finishing up lesson 6 from the Promises Kept book. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4 Men s Group will meet from 7:00 8:00 AM. Bible Study Fellowship will meet at 9:15 AM. Cadets & Jr. Cadets will go sledding, weather permitting, from 7:00 9:00 PM. Men s Bible Study will meet at 7:15 PM at the house.

Parents, please make sure to sign a waiver for your students online before they come, or come in when you drop them off. Please drop them off at the Elmhurst Skyzone (325 W. Lake St.) at 7:00 PM and pick them up there between 9:00 and 9:30 PM. The cost for this event is $5. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7 Serve Team returns from Honduras. Cadet & Jr. Cadet Winter Derby will be at Dickson Valley Camp in Plano, IL. We will leave church at 8:45 AM and return to church about 4:00 PM. Bring plenty of warm clothing, as we will be outdoors all day. More info is in your mailbox or on the sign up desk.
