2 Welcome to Bethel Church! We are excited that we can celebrate what God has been doing in our lives and in our world with you. Please stay after the worship time is over and enjoy some coffee, cookies and conversation with us. NEXT WEEK, we will include a celebration of the Lord's Supper in our worship time. What a great opportunity to bring together Good Friday (the death of Jesus) and Easter (new life through Jesus) in one time of worship. As you prepare yourself, reflect back on Good Friday and Easter and thank God for His incredible love for you. SECOND OFFERING TODAY CROSSROADS BIBLE INSTITUTE equips the church to disciple people in prison with the Word of God, free of charge, wherever they are incarcerated. It is a personal, in-depth and long-term program that is uniquely designed to help incarcerated persons grow dramatically in a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ, preparing them for and assisting them in successful reentry upon release. If you would like to find out more about how you can get involved, please talk with Norma Baas or Bob Olson. STARTING THIS AFTERNOON, there will be a class for young people who have never publicly professed their faith in Jesus Christ. The second class will be held on April 21 (note the change!). The classes will help the youth to better understand what faith in Jesus is all about and why membership in a local church is so important. If you are interested in attending, please talk to Jason Ruis or Pastor Cal. The class will begin at 12:30. Pizza will be provided. ON APRIL 21, a group from LiNK (Liberty in North Korea) will be presenting a documentary of the life of one person who escaped from North Korea. They will also have a question and answer time following. The presentation, which will begin at 6:00pm promises to be an eyeopening and challenging discussion of life in a country that is very different from our own. LiNK's purpose is to redefine North Korea by focusing on the people while rescuing and providing resettlement support to North Korean refugees and pursuing an end to the North Korea crisis. You can find out more about them at BAPTISM - During worship on April 21, Theadora Bertha Schiebout will be baptized as a visual reminder of the work of God's grace in her life. CHILDREN AT THE TABLE - Any child who would like to take communion but is not ready to make the full step of membership in the church is invited to attend a Children at the Table class on April 28 immediately following the worship time. The class will last minutes and will answer any questions they have about what Communion means.

3 THE PRAYER SUMMIT OF THE CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH is being held in Los Angeles, CA on Monday Wednesday, April We can share in this prayer time by reserving April 16, Tuesday night at 7pm to join together and view the highlights of prayer summit held on Monday and then pray together and also on Wed. night to view the summit held Tuesday evening. Richard Mouw will be on Tuesday night and Mary Vanden Berg on Wed. You are invited to Julian Baas home for each night at 7pm. The podcast lasts 45 minutes and prayer time will follow. God encourages us to PRAY---rather commands us to pray! May we see many gathered to pray. If you need directions please contact Julian at NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER - Your Bethel Council has decided to observe the National Day of Prayer on May 2 nd in a new way this year. Rather than holding a prayer day service we would like to cover as much of the day as possible in prayer by members and friends of Bethel. If you are willing to spend 15, 30, 45 or more minutes in prayer at some point in the day we can truly observe a DAY of prayer. Your time in prayer can be spent in praying for our national, state or local leaders, our service men and women, spiritual leaders and more. Just sign up for a time slot listed on the sign-up sheet in the Gathering Place. Let's see just how much of the day we can cover in prayer. 4 FREE SHOPPING DAY AT BETHEL CHURCH THIS WEEKEND! SIGN-UP IN THE GATHERING PLACE TO HELP! If you know someone who could benefit from this day, please let them know about our event which will take place Friday, April 12 th, 9am - 6pm and Saturday morning, April 13 th, 9am - Noon. We are seeking donations of clothing, household items, toys, etc. which may be brought to the upper Ignite Center prior to the weekend. Be thinking and planning how YOU want to participate in this fun weekend and watch for a sign-up sheet! Bethelites will be able to shop on Thursday, April 11 th, 6-8pm. If you haven t been a part of our Progressive Dinners in the past, please place this date on your calendar to join us, as it s a lot of fun! There will be two different routes planned and nursery available at Bethel Church. We will be meeting at homes for the different meal courses and then end up back at Bethel for dessert. Watch for the sign-up sheet as we will be asking for help in order to assist our hosts in food preparations.
