LWML MISSION NOTES: For JUNE we are collecting items for our local food pantry. With children out of school for the summer, it puts an extra strain on low income families. Needed items are: pancake mix and syrup, crackers, cake and brownie mixes, jello and pudding mixes, canned pasta, boxes of instant potatoes, flour, sugar, canned goods, and meals like macaroni & cheese. 3 Surgery is set for June 29 for Pastor Aaron Hello all. Thank you for all of the support, help, comments, prayers, and concern that have been part of my daily experience here at Zion. It has been most appreciated! I thought it might be good to outline what will be happening for the next 2 to 4 weeks. My surgery is June 29 th, and my family and I leave for it on June 27 th. They expect that I will be in the hospital 4 days after the surgery and then will be released to the Rochester area for 2 to 4 weeks thereafter. During that time there are daily blood draws and labs and they are constantly making medication adjustments. I m not sure exactly how long I will be gone. During the time away we will be staying at a place called The Transplant House, which is a house in Rochester where people undergoing transplants are able to stay. During that time however both Lindy and I will be chronicling the journey. We have a CaringBridge page set up Lindy named it Kidneys are Cool! (I think they are most cool if they are working it s a bit of a bummer if they aren t working) and if you search for my name on it will allow you to see what we post. We will be sharing this too on Facebook, and will be letting the church office know how things are going. Genuinely, I m not sure what the road ahead involves, but even this seems blessed, and so we wait on whatever happens. Please keep my family, as well as my brother s family, in your prayers. 4 MISSION PRESENTATION JUNE 29 AT 7:00 P.M. CHUCK AND JEAN HOFFMAN FROM MISSION CENTRAL DISCUSSING MISSION IN KOREA AND ASIA Please join us for a mission presentation by Rev. Chuck and Jean Hoffman. It will be held in the Zion Fellowship hall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29. The couple has 2 children who will be along for the event. Please join us at this exciting event offered at Zion. A freewill offering will be received. Rev. Chuck and Jean Hoffman serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) as career missionaries in South Korea. In this role, Chuck serves as the pastor at International Lutheran Church, Seoul, South Korea. He is responsible for the spiritual care and growth of the many expatriates and Korean nationals who worship at this church. He also coordinates with other LCMS missionaries and the leadership of the Lutheran Church in Korea (LCK) to develop new ministries and potential new church plants outside the city of Seoul. Together, Chuck and Jean minister to the local people in this community as they seek to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them.

5 The Lord has blessed Joe and Heidi McCullough with the gift of a baby girl, MADELYN MARCELLA, who was born Monday, June 19, 2017 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. May our gracious Lord grant Madelyn a long life filled with His richest blessings. This morning s Fellowship Coffee will be sponsored by the LYC with proceeds going toward youth activities. Please join us in the Fellowship Hall following the worship service. Cayleigh and I wanted to thank everyone at Zion for such a warm reception we ve received upon arriving in Humboldt. You welcomed our family and friends, came and supported me at my ordination, and blessed us with a great pantry party. Cayleigh and I enjoyed getting to visit with all the members, and Emma had a blast getting to say Hi in the microphone at the party. We appreciate all your support and encouragement, and look forward to the coming years with great joy. Pastor Kyle Thank you to all who have supported the Sunday morning coffees. We were able to send $234 to Informed Choice Medical Clinics from the 1 st Sunday's offering. This helps save lives!! We received $127 for the Creation Museum trip the following Sunday and we will be offering the coffees on July 2 nd and 9 th as well - before leaving for Kentucky on July The JULY & AUGUST NEWSLETTER is available on the table in the Narthex and in the office. If you would like to receive the newsletter by e- mail, please notify the church office. The Evangelism Board is coordinating the Sunday Morning Fellowship COFFEES to follow the worship services during the summer. Any group of individuals, families or Zion organizations are encouraged to sponsor a Sunday Morning Fellowship Coffee. A free will offering will be received to cover expenses with the remaining proceeds going toward a cause of their choice. Please sign up on the east bulletin board in the Narthex. There will be an Alzheimers Bake Sale on Friday, June 30 from 9 a.m.- Noon at the Humboldt Care Center North. If you would like to donate baked goods or cakes please do so by Wednesday, June 28 at either Care Center. Relay for Life on Friday, June 30 from 6-10:00 p.m.: Dedicate a Luminaria in tribute for loved ones whose life has been touched by cancer. Relay for Life will be downtown Humboldt this year instead of the High School track. Plan to donate blood on Monday, July 3 at the Humboldt Community BLOOD DRIVE sponsored by Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. The Drive will be held in Zion Lutheran Fellowship Hall from 1-6 p.m. Eligible blood donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 120 pounds and be in general good health. Eat a regular meal before donating blood and bring your blood donor card or photo ID.
