2 10th Sunday In Ordinary Time June 5, 2016 Back in February of 1986 I was called to the Cathedral Basilica by Bishop George Gottwald to become a Permanent Deacon. I then became your Deacon at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Crestwood, MO. I have remained your Deacon for the past 30 years and now due to my eyesight failing I will be stepping down from the altar but will remain your Deacon in any way I m needed but will only be practicing from the pew where I will be sitting with Elaine after 30 years. After many baptisms, marriages and assisting at many funerals it is time to step down. I will be celebrating 80 years of life in July, retiring and celebrating 30 years of Ordination. I think I have trained at least 10 pastors/administrators, JUST KIDDING! Sounds like I have led a full life since 1986 and have enjoyed being your Deacon every day. You can still call upon me if needed and I will be very happy to be of service in any way. There will be a celebration in the gym on Sunday, June 26, after the 10:30 AM mass. I would like to see as many parishioners as possible and perhaps even some of the ones I have baptized, married etc. I would like to see people who have moved away and some of our former priests. So please spread the word as much as you can. With a heavy heart I am writing this but my eyesight is failing very quickly. There will be a sign up sheet in back of the church so we can get some sort of count. Again there will be a need for desserts as we have wonderful bakers in our parish. Fondly, Deacon Bob Snyder

Guests will enjoy lunch, 18 holes of golf, a silent auction, and dinner. Registration and lunch begins at 11:30 am with a putting contest before the tee off at 12:30 pm and dinner at 6:15 pm.

GIVE A MEAL A MONTH The St. Vincent DePaul Society has sponsored the Give A Meal A Month program at St. Elizabeth for many years and some of our newer parishioners may not be aware of this worthwhile program. A Give A Meal A Month yellow bag and a different menu are made available every month. The menu can be found in the bulletin. Fill the bag and return it to the closet next to the stairs in the church vestibule. Bags are always available in this closet. The items collected are delivered to St. Catherine Laboure s Food Pantry every month. Thanks to everyone who helps to support this program. WINE is a creative and inspired ministry to invigorate Catholic women through encouraging, supporting, and nurturing them in their faith and by equipping and mobilizing them as intentional disciples of Jesus Christ.
