2 21st Sunday In Ordinary Time August 27, 2017 FROM THE DESK OF FR. FALLON Hello Everyone! Happy Sunday! I got back from my trip to Colombia with Archbishop Carlson on Monday. It's great to be home! What a blessed trip! One thing I'd like to share with you is about the Mass I attended last Sunday. The Messengers of Peace, the order Archbishop Carlson co-founded, have a mass at their monastery each Sunday. People from all over come to this remote location for worship. The monastery church isn't built yet, so we prayed in a big tent. It was packed! During Mass there were Confirmations and marriage blessings, there were kids screaming and people singing, some smiling and some crying--it was awesome. And while it was very, very different than Crestwood, it made me think of all of you. Every weekend we gather together in our "tent" and give praise to God. Some of us are smiling from the good things the Lord is doing, while others of us allow our tears to be our prayers. We celebrate Jesus in the Holy Eucharist together, and we look out for one another as a community, just like people all over the world. I'm glad we have air conditioning, too! Speaking of our community, you might have noticed our sign, inviting people to think about becoming Catholic. NOTHING is better than a personal invitation! So if you can pray and think about inviting someone to consider becoming Catholic, it'd be amazing. That's just as powerful as being a Colombian missionary! Paz y Amor, Fr. Fallon
