PASTORAL CARE FOR THE SICK Please notify the Parish Center when a family member is ill, whether in the hospital or at home. Holy Communion will be brought regularly by appointment to those confined to the home. The sick or chronically ill should receive the Sacrament of Anointing. If you can commit to a specific hour or even to a specific 30 minutes, call Rose Stone at A Prayer for Leadership Give us, O God, Leaders whose hearts are large enough to match the breadth of our own souls and give us souls strong enough to follow leaders of vision and wisdom. In seeking a leader, let us seek more than development of ourselves though development we hope for, more than security for our land though security we need, more than satisfaction for our wants though many things we desire. I am in the final planning stages for classes in September s Religious Education program. I still need TWO 7 th grade aides and ONE 8 th grade aide! I can also use substitutes for the classes, just in case the teacher or aide cannot make it one evening. I also need a high school student to help with various duties at the front table. Classes begin on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 7:00-8:30 pm. As of now, the 8 th grade classes are FULL, and there are only a few openings in the 7 th grade! You may also request information online at Important Announcement Concerning The Heralds of the Gospel We have recently learned that groups of Men and Women calling themselves the Heralds of the Gospel, Regina Virginum or Virgo Flores Carmeli are present in the Archdiocese of Newark and are attempting to raise funds for their communities. Members of this community dress in distinctive habits and uniforms. The community does not have a regular presence within the Archdiocese of Newark. Its members have not sought permission from the Archbishop, as is required under Church law, to engage in any ministry or fundraising within the Archdiocese. The Archdiocese has written to the community s leadership to begin a dialogue concerning intentions, mission and perhaps a future presence and ministry, but until that status has been finalized no one should engage with or entertain the members of the Heralds or its affiliated group.
