PASTORAL CARE FOR THE SICK Please notify the Parish Center when a family member is ill, whether in the hospital or at home. Holy Communion will be brought regularly by appointment to those confined to the home. The sick or chronically ill should receive the Sacrament of Anointing. In an emergency, call the Parish Center at any time. Please read ALL of the registration materials as many of our programs have changed. The Summer Program is now closed. Attendance at all 9 sessions is mandatory!!! We will not be accepting registration or reserving spaces by phone. Only completed registration forms along with payment will guarantee your space on a first come, first serve basis. The May 13 th deadline has now passed, please include a late fee of $ Calling All Parishioners! I am currently in need of a few aides and substitutes for the Junior High, 7 th and 8 th grade Religious Education Program. We meet in the school on Tuesday evenings, from 7:00 8:30 PM from September through December. When your children were in the Religious Education program, maybe you didn t have the time, and were unable to volunteer and share your faith with the students. Perhaps now they are in high school, college or finished with school and you have that extra time that years ago was non-existent! Please, won t you consider sharing your faith with our students as others have done previously? If you can help out, please call Pat Wuensch at , Ext. 29 and volunteer to be an aide or substitute in the program. It is really a very short amount of commitment for a very great reward! I taught in the religious education program for over 10 years, and then stopped when life got too hectic! When my children graduated and moved out of the house, I was ready to get involved again. Support Groups for Parents Grieving the Death of a Child The needs of parents who have suffered the loss of a son or daughter are unique. The Office of Family Life Ministries of the Archdiocese of Newark sponsors support groups for Parents Grieving the Death of a Child. The groups are led by trained facilitators - parents who have personally experienced the death of a child. Groups meet at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Parish Center, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ on the First Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm (July and August is 7:00 pm) and at St. Peter the Apostle Church, Rectory Basement, 445 Fifth Avenue, River Edge, NJ on the Third Monday of each month at 7:30 pm.
