Matthew 22:37 Thank You for Your Help Feeding the Homeless on Saturday, October 6th It was through the donations of our MBS parishioners which helped us care for almost 100 less fortunate people at the Walk in Dinner Program in Hackensack. We served a wonderful homemade meatloaf dinner made possible by our parishioners followed by an assortment of desserts, fruit, fabulous homemade cookies and wonderful chocolates! All Saints Day Mass Please join us for All Saints Day Mass this Wednesday, November 1, and First Friday Mass this Friday, November 3, at 9:15 am! We will have a 12:15 pm dismissal on Friday, November 3. There is no aftercare on this day. Calling all Veterans!!! The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a formation process for those seeking to become Catholic and for those Catholics wishing to complete their Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and First Eucharist). 5 Page Five October 29, 2017 Autumn Prayer We see signs of summer's passing in golden leaves, shortening days, misty mornings, autumn glow. We sense its passing in rain that dampens, winds that chill, Harvest's bounty placed on show. Creator God, who brings forth both green shoot and hoar frost, sunrise and sunset, we bring our thanks for seeds that have grown, harvests gathered, storehouses filled, mouths fed. And, as your good earth rests through winter's cold embrace, we look forward to its reawakening when kissed by Spring's first touch. CCD GRADES 1-6 NO CCD CLASS: Monday, October 30 th and Tuesday, October 31 st NO CCD CLASS: Monday, November 6 th and Tuesday, November 7 th NEXT CCD Classes: Monday, November 13 th and Tuesday, November 14 th Note to All Religious Education Families This is just a reminder that Wednesday, November 1 st is All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses to celebrate this day are at 6:45 am, 9:15 am, and 6:30 pm. All Saints Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church. It is an opportunity to remember all saints and martyrs throughout Christian history. All Souls Day is November 2 nd and is an opportunity for Roman Catholics to commemorate the faithful departed. Masses for November 2 nd are at 6:45 am, 9:15 am and 7:00 pm. Please remember, our next classes will be held the week of November 13 th. First Holy Communion The parent Communion meeting was held on October 2 nd and 3 rd. If your child is receiving Communion this year and you did not attend the meeting please contact our office at for important information regarding First Communion. Communal and Individual Penance Service Please mark your calendars. First Communion children will be receiving the Sacrament of First Penance on Saturday, December 9 th at 12:30 pm in the church. Home Study CCD We still have Home Study Books ready for pick up in the Religious Education office located in the Parish Center. Please pick them up ASAP and follow the directions included with your book. All chapters along with the online chapter reviews needs to be completed no later than February 27 th. Junior High Notes I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful fall weather that has arrived! Please remember, if you are doing 7 th or 8 th grade home study, and you have not yet picked up your book, it is time! Those of you who have your books should be sending me a lesson at least once a week! My inbox is empty! Please get started and try and make it a weekly thing. This way you will not have to complete the lessons in your book in a hurried manner. This is not the spirit of doing your work on home study. For those of you who attend class, please remember classes begin at 4:00 pm and end at 5:15 pm. Parents must come in to the building to pick up their child. There are only two absences allowed for the session which runs until February 27! At this point in the year, we have only met three times, and there are already quite a few absences. Thank you!
