PASTORAL CARE FOR THE SICK Please notify the Parish Center when a family member is ill, whether in the hospital or at home. Holy Communion will be brought regularly by appointment to those confined to the home. The sick or chronically ill should receive the Sacrament of Anointing. Revelation 1:5 Advent Advent begins next weekend. Any family or individual wishing to light the Advent Candle at a weekend Mass should sign up on the sheets in the narthex. The Little Blue Advent Prayer Books are in the Narthex of the Church. Please help yourself. CHRIST IS KING On the final Sunday of the liturgical year we celebrate the feast of Christ the King. It s easy to understand today s scriptures as events that happened long ago and far away, or predictions that will come true somewhere, some day. But they invite us to claim Christ as our King here and now. Jesus words to Pilate in the Gospel remind us that his kingdom transcends time and place. And the prophecies from Daniel and Revelation give us reason to be faithful to Christ our King right here and right now. By concluding the year with this feast we are proclaiming our faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only King over all seasons, all peoples, and all of creation. No matter what nation we belong to or what language we speak, he has made us into a kingdom (Revelation 1:6) one people united in love and peace for all

9 Dear Parishioners: 2018 Sharing God s Blessings: The Archbishop s Annual Appeal Through your generosity, we have surpassed (in pledges) our 2018 AAA goal. The goal was $95,837. We have in pledges $108,120 with 264 families participating. Wow! Now the work of the parish is to make sure those pledges are honored by December 31 st, To date, we have received $93,435 toward those pledges. There is a balance to be collected of $14,685. If all pledges are fulfilled, then Most Blessed Sacrament Parish will receive 62% of all funds received over our assigned goal. At this point, that would mean MBS would receive a rebate check from the Archdiocese of Newark in the amount of $7,615. We have included this amount as anticipated income in our fiscal 2019 budget.
