On Sunday 7 June, there will be Solemn Mass at 6 p.m. at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist followed by a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of Charleston to Saint Mary s Church, Hasell Street for Solemn Benediction. A Catholic Block Party will follow on St. Mary s campus. 6 P.M. Solemn Mass Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Charleston Celebrant: Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone Music by the Cathedral Choir 7:15 P.M. Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession from the Cathedral to St. Mary s Catholic Church, Hasell St., followed by Solemn Benediction. A Catholic Block Party will follow on the parish campus. Please join us in welcoming Father Martin to our parish. Support for the Earthquake Victims in Nepal: Our Church mourns the suffering of the victims of the terrible tragedy in Nepal. Bishop Guglielmone urges all to join with the Catholic community across the United States in responding to our suffering brothers and sisters through special donations for the work of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Nepal. CRS is already providing urgent needs for shelter, water and food for the earthquake victims. If you wish to donate to help CRS in their aid, please drop off your donation to the Parish Office. Checks should be made payable to Catholic Relief Services. Scheduling of Events: Please note that all events that are to take place on Cathedral grounds must be submitted in writing to the Parish Secretary for approval by the Rector. Events that have not been given approval do not end up on the Parish Calendar and may cause issues for other events that are already scheduled. It will be especially important to have events submitted in writing as we begin to work with the Allegro Charter School who will be leasing Cathedral Center and work with our already busy schedule of events for our Cathedral groups. Please contact the Parish Secretary for a new form that is required to be filled out for every event so that our parishioners and groups will be able to have priority and will assist in parish staff to avoid last minute inconveniences.

4 Website: The Ascension of the Lord Atlanta Schola Cantorum Now Is The Time To Advertise In Our presents Weekly Church Bulletin The Lights of Evening For The New Year Atlanta Schola Cantorum, a 24-voice ensemble under the direction of John Whitt, will present The Lights of Evening, a program of choral music centered around themes of sunset, evening, and night. The program will be performed in Charleston during the Piccolo Spoleto Festival under the auspices of the Festival of Churches and Synagogues on Monday, 25 May, at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Piccolo Spoleto Spotlight Series The Charleston Renaissance Ensemble, the Cathedral s artists-in-residence since 1996, will present a program of choral music here on Saturday, 30 May at 9:00 p.m. Since 1977 the group has distinguished itself as a premier proponent of early vocal music in the Lowcountry. The concert will include compositions spanning the late Middle Ages through the high Renaissance. Tickets are $16 for adults, $11 for seniors & students, and will be available at the door, at the Charleston Visitor Center box office, and online through piccolospoleto.com.
